Somebody Tell Kerry: White House Says We're at War with ISIS
Reason Magazine ^ | September 12, 2014

The United States is at war with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS or ISIL), the White House and Pentagon said Friday, a day after Secretary of State John Kerry repeatedly declined to use that phrase.

“In the same way that we are at war with Al Qaeda and its affiliates around the globe, we are at war with ISIL,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters at the White House.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby echoed that sentiment, telling reporters that while the effort was "not the Iraq war," they should "make no mistake, we know we are at war with ISIL."

Jenjess Khan can be told, then he can pass the word to Kerry.

ISIL is a direct threat to US. But, I think we should inform the Arabic nations we will not protect them unless they actively join in the fight.

I think they are going to call it Pruning. They are pruning ISIS. You know, like culling sheep or apples or something to that effect.

Washington apparently thinks pruning works on a many-headed Hydra.

But, then again, this is the bunch who called terrorism that simperingly feckless term: Man-caused Disaster.

We have effete fops running the country.

Given all these mixed messages I’ll bet ISIS is really ‘worried’ at this point about the US

Jean-Francois Kerre` has nightmares about when Nixon sent him into Cambodia in December 1968. He wants nothing more to do with war.

Therefore, he cannot call an engagement with ISIS a “war”, because that would put him in the same box as Nixon and Henry Kissinger.

Check your calendar, by the way. Nixon was not President anytime during 1968.

LBJ was still President until January 1969.

Having never been an actual “participant” in a war, Ketchup King will require someone to explain it to him - - slowly and repetitively.

When you do talk very slowly using small words, talk very loudly to get his attention and try to make exaggerated lip movements as you sound out multi-syllable words. Kerry-Heinz is not real swift on the uptake.

Even Kerry is getting whipsawed by Obama’s mercurial policy shifts! Does Chris Matthews even have any faith left in these clowns? This president’s farcical dithering has gone from comedy to tragedy and back to comedy!

What does Congress say?

...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Wait until enemy islamist barry usurps them on amnesty after the election. They’ll most likely be sleeping then too.

Truth be told...we are not at war with ISIL...

If we are at war we will taking out their command and control structure, reducing their stolen oil fields to a fiery pile of rubble, using international banking measures to starve them of money, and various other means to destroy their recruiting ability, moral, fighting spirit...

What we have is political theater...

What Obama does best...

Ha...they can protect their own damn selves...

Most of the Arab nations helped birthed this rosemary's baby, let them deal with them...

AMERICANS BEWARE!!!

Those who maintain that understanding jihad as a holy war constitutes a sort of deviation from the true Islamic tradition are therefore not telling the truth, and history sadly demonstrates that violence has characterized Islam since its origin, and that Mohammed himself systematically.

But the biggest difference between Christianity and Islam concerns the crucial issue of understanding the human person. This is shown by the fact that many Islamic countries have not accepted the declaration of human rights promulgated by the United Nations in 1948, or have done so with the reservation of excluding the norms that conflict with Qur’anic law which means practically all of them.

In Islamic tradition, in fact, the concept of the equality of all human beings does not exist, nor does, in consequence, the concept of the dignity of every human life. Sharia is founded upon a threefold inequality: between man and woman, between Muslim and non-Muslim, and between freeman and slave.

Christianity and Islam in History by Monsignor Walter Brandmüller, is president of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences.
