ISIS Fighters 'Three Times as Many' as CIA Feared; 10 Arab Countries Join US in Fight

There might be as many as 31,000 fighters in terror group ISIS' army, the CIA has said, which is three times more than it previously feared. Ten Arab countries have meanwhile said that they will be helping the U.S. in the war against ISIS.

"This new total reflects an increase in members because of stronger recruitment since June following battlefield successes and the declaration of a caliphate, greater battlefield activity, and additional intelligence," CIA spokesman Ryan Trapani said, according to BBC News on Friday.

ISIS has captured a number of cities across Syria and Iraq; it has attacked minorities including Christians, and has directly threatened the U.S. in videos showing the beheadings of two American journalists.

The U.S. has carried out more than 150 airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq, and has sent arms and advisers to help the Iraqi government and Kurdish forces. Other counties, including Britain, have contributed humanitarian assistance to the region.

Meanwhile, 10 Arab countries pledged to help the U.S. in its fight against the terror group.

Following a meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry in Saudi Arabia, ministers representing Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates all said that they will provide both military support and humanitarian aid.

The Arab countries said in a joint statement that they "shared commitment to stand united against the threat posed by all terrorism" and said that they had discussed a strategy to "destroy" the terror group wherever it operates.

"The region recognizes the danger that has been unleashed and they are full-throatedly ready to deal with that and that is why they committed today to take the actions they have committed to," Kerry said.

I have said several times that I doubted O’s sincerity in promising to deal with ISIS; my view is that he would only try to “manage” them while trying to build yet another ISIS in the process. And I’ve said that ISIS is a Saudi/Turk/State project.

I would like to be wrong. If this article is accurate, then maybe I am wrong. If this is accurate, then the Saudis have decided that ISIS has become a threat to themselves and must be put down. Whether they backed them in the beginning or not, they have decided to shut them down.

Or maybe they’ve decided there is another way to occupy the ground ISIS has taken. ISIS was the battering ram, now they are no longer needed. So we’ll see.

The global/financial elites really, really want this war.

I am expecting the next pronouncement to be that ISIS has super hero abilities.

To which the Joe Six Pack and wife will yawn, fart and with a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice latte in hand spout off their Fantasy Football picks.

'Tis the problem with a mentally stunted, retarded population incapable of thinking--kinda hard to get their attention outside of their immediate gratifications and bread/circuses.

There looks to be a whole string of missing “intelligence” in the ISIS count. Over a month ago we were told they had more than 80,000 troopz. And that was why they were able to occupy and control so many Iraqi towns, etc. So have they been losing ragheads faster than we can drone them? Maybe they are ebola carriers? Maybe they are failing in suicide bomber class? ( no, not yet Akmud) And does the Grand Kenyan have to send them more vehicles to minimize rampant cases of “camel butt”? Regardless as long as moozies are killing muzzies all the way back to Mushmiel I’m not seeing the problem.

The arab countries will try and make us do it all.

The arab countries will try and make us do it all.

But they'll need to be kept informed of our operational plans and given access to our intelligence data.

It’s NOT called a “war”!! Whatever it’s called, Obama has already lost this fight for America.

Ah, so the CIA reasons from fear, as I long imagined. Do they ever get anything right, by the way?

...Following a meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry in Saudi Arabia, ministers representing Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates all said that they will provide both military support and humanitarian aid...

that would appear to be a roll-call of muslim countries afraid of the salafist ISIL. (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and who would have the most to lose by the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate.

Had Libya not been destroyed, had Assad not been demonized as Gaddafi was, that would have made twelve so far. But then, if Libya and Syria had not been targeted (as was Egypt) ISIL would never have been able to establish itself.

Funny that. Now the muslims get to take sides - the mohammadans who want to keep their heads and their wealth have an opportunity to remove the 'followers of the straight path' from the face of the earth, regardless of their tribe or geographical origin. Fascinating.
