I believe the democrats have proclaimed that unemployment checks are the best thing ever to hit the economy. Unemployment, welfare, foodstamps, ObamaCare, Obama free shit, etc, all great patriotic stuff. These people permanently living on government subsistence are just doing their patriotic duty.

Consider the case where you are 30 years old and just fell off the unemployment insurance rolls. You're living with your ex-wife and watching TV all day. You aren't actively looking for a job. You are not counted as unemployed. You don't count in the BLS unemployment percentage. What a joke.

I first learned of unemployment payments when I was about 10 years old. My older brother was recently back from the navy and he was going to school and getting unemployment. I asked him what was “unemployment?” He explained that was when the government pays you not to work so other can. Very noble and patriotic.

I was in a union once back in the 60’s. I was working for my brother-in-law painting lines on parking lots at minimum wage (learning a trade). He bid on one job that was a union site. I had to join the painters union so we could land that job (I was his only employee). It was great working at union scale. Problem is, he was very slow paying. I don’t think I ever saw that raise in my paycheck.
In July 2014, there were 92,001,000 Americans, 16 and over, who were classified as “not in the labor force,” meaning they not only did not have a job, but they didn’t actively seek one in the last four weeks.
This number has increased by 11,472,000 since January 2009, when the number of Americans not in the labor force was 80,529,000.

I guess this means Obama should “focus like a laser beam” on (black) jobs, take no rest and leave no stone unturned, etc., until (black) jobs improve.
