The federal governments number crunchers believe some 21,318 same-sex couples call Georgia home, according to the U.S. Census Bureaus most recent accounting, and new research forecasts that as many as half would jump the broom within three years if allowed by their government.
Im one-half of one of those aggrieved couples denied, for more than five years, the social stability and legal protections of marriage. And, as a former spokesman for the Republican National Committee and adviser to prominent party figures, Im also a professional political operative whos helped install in government those who perpetuate marriage bias in America.
Its not always easy to love Georgia, or love in it. Our state constitution explicitly forbids same-sex unions, and the local economy remains defiantly sluggish. Yet in spite of its blemishes, my would-be groom and I are deeply committed to our community, one whose values of faith and family we share.

James Richardson is a former spokesman and adviser for the Republican National Committee and Governors Haley Barbour and Jon Huntsman.
Well then since your GOP I’ll just chuck my values. Because the party is everything.
Sure, go ahead and get married. Plenty of young women available.
If, however, you want to stay with someone of your own sex, then do not call it marriage.
You can get married.
Could the upcoming midterms have anything to do with the timing of this article?
So get married.
Find a nice masculine looking girl and settle down.
So get married. Who’s stopping you?
Now, every faggot must be preceded with a descriptive title:
Football Player Faggot Sam.
Car Salesman Faggot Smith.
GOP Spokesman Faggot Richardson.
And on and on...and on.
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
A better option for this homo would be to “get treatment”.
No, he’s a registered republican. Until the republicans drive off the flaming libs, they will never be conservative.

Dear Mr. Richardson,
No one has ever stopped you from getting married. Find a good woman and marry her. What you want is not marriage.
Sincerely,
Petrosious
They decry the need for homosexual “marriage”, yet I was unaware that any laws regarding domestic partnerships had been annulled.
They want to coopt and ruin the concept of marriage - they are unsatisfied with the legal concept of domestic partnerships (which is the governmental side of marriage).
You can get married whenever you want, pal; just find a nice girl and settle down.
No one’s stopping you but you.
President Faggot Barry Soetoro?
I'll go waaaaaaaay out on a limb here (and hide in the leaves) -- the number of straight men who are married now and don't want to be married is at least 10 times greater than the number of gay men who aren't married now but who want to get married.
RULE 10: If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.
the social stability and legal protections of marriage
Haven’t you been paying any attention at all? Hetero marriages are unstable and fail 50% of the time [tho homo marriages fail at a worse rate].
That’s the arguments that because marriages are failures anyway there’s no reason to keep them as between man and woman...
Admit it. Its not marriage you want its acceptance. If only the government will MAKE people accept you. Why, you just have so much to offer your “co-moonity”
F*** you and the rest of your crap stained ilk. I do not care how the scotus eventually rules. You will NEVER be married to anyone of the same sex. You might get the tax breaks and I will be forced to pay into the pot of SS bennies you will receive but you will ALWAYS be failed scum.
No, you're homosexual.
HOMOSEXUAL, because there's nothing GAY about it.
