In England the liberal left wing ideologues are shaking their heads with shame at the revelations coming from the town of Rotherham. In a huge scandal it has emerged that hundreds of children in state run children’s homes were systematically abused by gangs of Muslim men.

The fact that this sex abuse ring was perpetrated by Asian (Pakistani) men forces one to ask whether the crimes are somehow linked to their culture and religion. The police and social services were useless precisely because they thought the behaviors were linked with the Pakistani culture and religion, and why did so many in the Asian community turn a blind eye to what was going on?
I suspect it is because the abuse of women is not only part of Asian culture, but part of the Islamic religion/culture.

Yeah, except where Christians or Jews (especially) are involved. Then it's stark evil. At their core, the Lefties have simultaneous guilt and power complexes. How is that possible? Easy. They feel guilty because Western civilization is advanced and the Third World is backward. Instead of looking at the "why", they take the short cut and attribute it to racism and colonialism. In their mind, it is OUR culture that is entirely responsible for the cultural shortcomings of the other. The Power complex comes from the fantasy that if THEY had power, they would be able to fix it. Not by raising up the other culture (that would be WORK), but by bringing ours down to their Other's level.
“Asian” in UK, not unreasonably, is generally used to refer to the largest group of immigrants from the continent of Asia, who are from South Asia: Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.
The same term in USA, equally reasonably, is used to refer to our largest group of immigrants from that continent, East Asians: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.
The term just means different things in the two countries.
Actually, I haven't seen much about these children being concentrated in these homes. Many of them lived with their families, often in state housing projects.
If someone has actual evidence on whether this claim is correct, I'd be interested in seeing it.

You got it. The greatness of a faith is how the female half is treated. Islam flunks out in that area.

I remember seeing a movie a number of years ago, based on a true story, “Not Without My Daugther”, about an American woman who escaped from Iran during the hight of the Islamic revolution there.
Which in time could come back to the Dems in angry blowback.
The term isn’t really used logically in either country, since Turks, Arabs, Iranians and Uzbeks are all equally from Asia as are East Asians and South Asians.
But there’s no rule that words have to be used in logical ways, especially in English! :)
