McConnell says he wouldn’t allow a government shutdown

Read his lips: No shutdown.

Pushing back against a report to the contrary, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says he won’t let the government shut down if he becomes the chamber’s majority leader next year.

“Of course not,” the Kentucky Republican told CNN in an interview. “Remember me? I am the guy that gets us out of shutdowns,” he said. Government shutdowns like last October’s are a “failed policy,” McConnell added.

Email I sent to Mcconnell. I am writing and calling my house reps asking they don’t vote for McConnell if he does win.

So now Obama knows you will give him whatever he wants because you won’t allow a shutdown. Because of you and Boehner and others who don’t care about the debt, are sinking US, the American people, deeper and deeper into debt. Our kids will be slaves of the government! We have over $17 trillion in debt and over 100 trillion in unfunded mandates. YOU are suppose to represent republicans and NOT democrats. WHY (and I want a response to this question!) are you afraid to fight for us? I hope you lose your primary at this point. It won’t make a difference except maybe we will get a new COURAGEOUS majority leader. I will let every person I know, what you are doing to the American people. God help us when we have leaders like you and Boehner!

I hope Grimes cleans his clock.

One thing about it though, O’bastard has never had a budget land on his desk that was passed by both the house and senate.

He would have a hard time shifting blame when that happens.

Where are all the Rove FReepers defending their liberal RINO leader in the Senate?

What I get from his not surprising admission is, like Grimey, he will support Obama and his fiscal suicide.

So you like Hairy Reed running the Senate? Which of Grimes policies are your favorites?

“How does the turtle avoid a shutdown if O’bastard vetoes the budget? If O’bastard demands a budget that doubles welfare spending, will the turtle just send him that?”

Your two questions go to the crux of the matter. Based upon his statement, as well as his voting history, he will bend to the will of Reid/Obummer.

It will take more than a government shutdown to stop Obama's criminality. Impeachment, impeachment, impeachment!

The fear must end.

That illogical argument is played. Any other straw men or red herrings?

You support liberals. This is not a liberal website.

I don’t support liberals, and I’m not cheering for them to win.

Work to get somebody else nominated Senate majority leader if the turtle wins.

I’m going to disagree. A candidate has to respect voters’ short attention spans, and get right to the pertinent points.

If you can’t get their attention in a few seconds, you aren’t going to get it in a longer rant.

Never take 10 minutes to say what can be said in 30 seconds.

We live in media driven, sound bite times. These are political contests, not debating competitions.

Ten years ago, he couldn’t get an energy policy passed.

What makes anyone think he has the cahonies to do it now?

This is not about a broken arm, it is about cancer.

Mitch is part of the malignant cell in GOPe. His role first and foremost is to squash descent from the right. Period. Secondly, acquiesce to Obama on bended knee.

There is no point giving yourself a face lift if you have an inoperable brain tumor.

One of many reasons why I’ll be voting for the KY Libertarian candidate, David Patterson, this November.

As bad as he is it isn’t as bad as Grimes with Reid in control.

Thank you for referencing that article Oldeconomybuyer. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

What RINO McConnell is unsurprisingly ignoring concerning a government shutdown is the following. If DC lawmakers were to force themselves to work within their constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, such restraints would arguably come close to a government shutdown anyway where domestic policy is concerned.

Never vote for a RINO. Vote for a pile of manure, if that is the only choice.

Utter BullC*rap. It is thinking like this that is part of the reason we are in this horrible mess.

McConnell is an enemy of our Republic -- he must be politically destroyed, even if it means voting for Grimes.

2012 was the very last time I will vote for evil RINOs.

Karl Rove and other soulless GOPe pukes believe we will always abide by your pathetic reasoning -- no more.

We will likely take the Senate even with Grimes winning.

The only way to politically destroy the evil GOPe RINOs is NEVER to vote for them..
