Read his lips: No shutdown.
Pushing back against a report to the contrary, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says he wont let the government shut down if he becomes the chambers majority leader next year.
Of course not, the Kentucky Republican told CNN in an interview. Remember me? I am the guy that gets us out of shutdowns, he said. Government shutdowns like last Octobers are a failed policy, McConnell added.

Mitch is a bumbling idiot. How does congress battle a tyrannical executive branch without the power of the purse? Fool.

Hang in there. We'll beat down these Tea Partiers together. Mitch will punch 'em in the nose.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
So the question is “Just what will you do, Mitch? What is your idea of a successful policy?”

Not quite an idiot; but certainly too craven to understand how to actually present & sell a coherent position--a Constitutional position; and an economically sound position.
Here is the way a Republican leader, who in the vernacular "gets it," should have responded to the threatened shut-down of the Government over the debt ceiling and "Obamacare":
How To Respond To Anti-American Lies In An Election.
People will respond to the Conservative position, positively stated, cogently argued. They will not respond--certainly not favorably--to endless rationalizations intended to avoid giving offense to anyone.
No sense, no guts, no future!

People in KY surely are easily fooled; but they would still have Alben W. Barkley up there if he were alive.

Ohion, you need to condense your lengthy material, into simple 30 second sound bites.

Hope you and everyone like you lose.

When I tried my hand at politics in the 1970s, I used some 60 second sound bites, but found a 30 minute, extemporaneous TV address, making multiple points, putting an issue fully in context, far more effective. (I got 4 1/2 times the votes, per dollar spent, as my establishment backed primary opponent, who had a much better developed ballot name, and the party precinct organization. He won but not by much. Based on the response, another $10K would have put me in Congress.)
A thirty second sound-bite does not change anyone's opinion! It is simply a form of name identity campaigning. That is what we need to get away from.

How does the turtle avoid a shutdown if O’bastard vetoes the budget?
If O’bastard demands a budget that doubles welfare spending, will the turtle just send him that?
