Schrödinger's cat is the poster child for quantum weirdness. Now it has been immortalised in a portrait created by one of the theory's strangest consequences: quantum entanglement.
These images were generated using a cat stencil and entangled photons. The really spooky part is that the photons used to generate the image never interacted with the stencil, while the photons that illuminated the stencil were never seen by the camera.

They obey Bose-Einstein statistics.Yeah, but only when you're looking.

This seems to demonstrate a kind of entanglement in the macro world that I personally had never seen before. No obvious reason why this couldn’t be scaled up indefinitely. Would be interesting with gamma rays and weapons application.

Wonder if it has to be kept very cold, though.

Yes, a real- time communication device known as an ansible. I've tried to read up on the basics of quantum theory and it only goes so far before my head starts to hurt. The one thing that really blows my mind is the idea that anything that can happen
has happened in an infinite number of universes.

Excuse me for being pedantic, but obeying Bose-Einstein statistics MEANS that you can't watch them most of the time. When I took PSSC Physics in highschool, many years ago needless to say, I looked at illustrations of photons as milk cartons coming off a conveyer belt, as opposed to light pouring continuously from a spout, you see.
Many years after that I had a sort of epiphany reading section 2-3 QUANTIZED RADIATION FIELD of Sakurai's Advanced Quantum Mechanics. Here's one page ...
My epiphany was more or less, "HOLY CRAP! And I thought I knew what a photon was!"

I swear my cat Pumpkin smells like a stuffed animal. It sounds odd but it’s true. I’m always snuggling him and it’s very comforting.
