Romney Romps Over GOP Rivals: New Zogby Analytics Poll
Forbes ^ | August 19, 2014 | John Zogby

It turns out that there are some good reasons why the former Governor and GOP Presidential nominee is allowing his name to be circulated as a potential candidate in 2016. Some of those good reasons can be found in a new poll by Zogby Analytics showing him outpolling his nearest rivals for the nomination by about two to one. The poll of 315 likely Republican primary voters was conducted online on August 13-15 and has a margin of sampling error of +/-5.6 percentage points.

Romney places first in the 2016 race for the nomination with 20%, followed by New jersey Governor Chris Christie 12%, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul 11%, Texas Senator Ted Cruz 9%, former Arkansas Governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee 8%, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush 6%, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker 4%, Florida Senator Marco Rubio 4%, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindahl 3%, New Mexico Governor Suzanna Martinez 1%, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley 1%, Ohio Governor John Kasich .3%, and Ohio Senator Rob Portman at 0. Three percent selected the “Other Candidate” category and 17% were not sure.

Did romney decide to run on the democrat ticket? I heard that democrats love squishy, vindictive progressive types, and romney fits that bill nicely.

To me, it’s like they’re in cahoots with the libs! They’re not listening to the base whatsoever!!! They don’t care if they win or lose, it’s got to be that the communist-wannabes are so deeply embedded in the GOP!

Dammit Pubbies, you're going to do it again, aren't you? Snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Ensure another Communist tyrant sits in the Oval Orifice and wipes her a** with the Constitution.

STOP NOMINATING LIBERAL STATIST RINOS, GOP!!!!

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

'll just have to get used to President Elizabeth Warren.

Are you ready to have a radical liberal majority on the Supreme Court for the rest of your lifetime? And, lose your 2nd amendment rights and religious freedom? Be careful what you wish for.

Conservatives need to rally behind a candidate in 2016. But allowing another Marxist to be elected President is incredibly stupid.

It's beyond absurd at this point to say there was no difference between Romney and Obama and the country and the world wouldn't have been in better shape of Romney had been elected.

I’d vote for Obama’s third term before I would vote for Romney.

You're brain dead. Another Obama term (with Elizabeth Warren being Obama's successor) will result in an ISIS invasion along with millions more illegals coming over the border that will eventually become citizens and give the Democrats a majority party for a generation.

More radical leftists on the Supreme Court will eliminate the 2nd Amendment and religious freedom as we know it.

Your "principled" stance is destroying the country and ushering in an era of Islamic genocide.

If they nominate Romney, the Democrat will win, period.

Polls show Romney would beat Obama if the election were held today. So, he probably could beat a flaming Marxist like Warren.

Regardless, it is time conservatives stopped fighting amongst themselves and demanding a perfect candidate and rallied behind a conservative alternative to the Republican establishment candidate.

A rino will never get my vote again. Twice is two times too many.

That mentality has given us eight years of Obama. We're not going to survive another four years of radical liberal policies, open borders and far left-wing Supreme Court nominations.

I ain’t votin’ for him ... but I’d still take him over Obama.

We may never recover from Obama’s destruction.

Name recognition is perhaps the biggest draw any candidate has at this point. But we have had NO analysis of which one would be best for the good of the territory once known as “the United States of America”.

A nation I would like to see re-established.
