McDonald's on Friday reported July sales results that were much worse than analysts had expected.

The dismal results prompted Janney Capital Markets to lower its estimates for the fast-food giant. Its analysts said the results "were the worst worldwide month in the last 10 years, once trading-day adjustments are taken into account."

They haven’t kept up with America’s improving pallet. There’s now multiple fastfood companies out there serving dramatically better food for similar prices that are booming. By remaining stagnant they allowed the market to move them from top tier in their class to bottom tier, life on the bottom tier is rough, especially when you’re not competing on price.

Especially as potatoes are literally dirt-simple to produce.

Google “potato tower”. . . we had ONE last year, got 28 pounds of potatoes out of it. . .

Where do you live? I don’t want to move there by accident.

I buy ground chuck for 3.48 a pound, five pounds at a time, divide it up in freezer bags and use em one at a time on the grill. Sam’s Club. Angus, 90% lean.

Sounds like your area is ripe for revolt.

Lately I’ve been hitting the deli at my local grocery store for eating out. Deal is: big breakfast with meat and eggs for $2.59. Dinner with meat (usually chicken) and vegetables for $5—

Burger King and Jack in the box are a good 30-40% less than McDonalds and that’s without coupons which we regularly get in the paper.

After that video was out someone else went to McD’s all the time and made their own video. They lost weight. How? They chose the menu items and ate wisely.

He did not gain weight because of McD’s, he gained weight because he ate like a pig and made stupid choices about what to eat.

Tough to get out of there and spend anything under seven bucks anymore.

There is a church here with a weekly dinner for $6. I should probably eat there.

Neil Cavuto had a highschool teacher on that ate only at McDonalds for I think six months and he lost 50 pounds.

He was on several times discussing what he ate. He didn’t eat just salads etc.

No it was propaganda. Part of his “study” included ending all his exercise. Doesn’t matter where you’re eating, if you up your intake and reduce your burn weight will be gained. There’ve been a few rebuttal documentaries where the people kept their existing exercise regimen and controlled their intake while eating every meal at McDs and actually lost weight.

The dollar and more menu went up dramtically; example: a McDouble went from $1.00 to $1.59.

I have never tried that method, did look at it several years ago and if I recall you use tires to make the tower. I will research it and most likely try next year. Thanks for the reminder.

they have a terrific dollar menu but now you have to ask, is it really chicken and is it really beef....

Mc's is the go to place though....when we're traveling, its where we go because you know exactly what you'll get....

BK is getting better though....

Last questions:
Do you eat at McDonalds?
Are you an employee or ever been an employee of McDonalds?

: )

That’s all right. They can still serve it as long as they pick it up off of the floor within three seconds!

I think their poor sales are mostly due to the Chinese supplier issue.

is it just me getting old but didn’t Big Macs and Quarter pounders and Whoppers USED to be really big sandwhitches?....that is why I just get off the dollar menu....not that much difference and you can triple your order if you need more food at the same price...

There is a church here and each week a different church prepares meals for the homeless. They usually serve a sandwich, soup, and a drink. I sometimes eat there as do a lot of the local farmers. The cooks will not accept your money so I walk into the church up front and leave it in the offering plate. Good grub, bad company and conversation, why I have stopped going there.
