Having grown up in the South, I'll agree to a point. Some parts of the South the woman's accent is grating.

Also grating to me is an Australian accent.

Phulluhdelphia accents, and thus, the neighboring South Jersey accent, make me physically ill. And unfortunately, I live in the Dulluhware Valley. The way they swallow their 'L's and pronounce their 'O's (as well as the area's increasing Third World status) serve as a constant reminder that I need to pack up and move to...uh...somewhere else.

IMHO, if they’re exceeding the speed limit, they had better be running lights and sirens, and have a reason for doing so. Otherwise, same rules should apply to them.

Another pet peeve of mine is watching city buses run red lights with impunity. I realize they’re on a schedule, but they should be following the rules, too.

You got that right. Here in NJ anyone with any sense knows what you’re saying. And when it comes to the New Jersey State Police, they’re a law unto themselves.

NPR would disagree with you. It seems over half of their women journalist have British accents. I think they do this, because believe it sounds intellectual or something.

Probably because of where I grew up (with friends who had parents born in Scotland and Ireland), those accents are much easier for me to understand than many others. I don;t argue it with people that find those accents annoying; if I had grown up somewhere else it would probably annoy me too...

Why? I did not see the video, but when I went to school, We were taught that everyone, including the President was to follow the Constitution. If the occupier [by the people’s demand] of the White House does not follow the Constitution, why should the peasantry have to follow the Constitution?

Seems to me everyone is missing the point here. It is not about abiding by the Constitution, it's much more consequential than that.

It is the State abrogating itself.

Consider that the State is only in existence as a consequence of the powers contractually delegated to it by the People via the Constitution. When the State power no longer abides by that contract, there is no longer legitimate government.

Just my $.02 for thought.
