Disney did “The Canterville Ghost” starring Peter O’Toole. The original Oscar Wilde story is terrific.

Netflix only has 1997 and 2003 versions of this movie so your facilitator has nothing to add to Bosley Crowther's comments regarding this movie.

Too bad. The World War II setting would be an interesting feature. In the story, the Americans who move in are a retired Southern judge and his family.

Canter’s ghost will haunt the halls of RINOville for years to come. RINOs everywhere will wake in a cold sweat from nightmares of falling to the same fate.

I greatly enjoyed this film when I first saw it on TV in the 60's. A works redemption story where the cowardly ghost confronts fear which keeps him in limbo, haunting the hall.

This is a typical Hollywood theme and we see it echoed in movies then and now. ("It's a Wonderful Life" where Clarence gets his "wings" and "Sixth Sense" where H.J.Osment sees dead people with unresolved "life" issues.)

Not a Christian theme, where the Bible makes it clear that all who die in their sins go immediately to hell and have no further of salvation (Luke 16:19-31, see the "Rich man and Lazarus").

Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25,26)

Now is the time to believe and be saved. To die in one's sins is to be damned eternally. Which is why Jesus gave his life to save men from this eternity under the wrath of God, a righteous God who will punish with death and hell the unrepentant and reward with eternal life those who trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ and graciously receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life. And that is the Gospel message echoed over and over in the Bible. The Gospel of John is great place to start.

no. I can only assume no ads, or hope anyway. Seems like a movie this old would be 99 cents on Amazon or ITunes doesn’t it?
