Right Again! The Modern Environmentalist Movement is the Home of Communism

RUSH: Hey, if anybody out there in the audience happens to be from the Sullivan Group's opinion auditing firm, you need to take account of this. One of my Undeniable Truths of Life, written in an afternoon -- in an idle afternoon while seeking a column's topic. I needed to write a column for a local newspaper, and I had writer's block. So I started jotting down one-sentence beliefs hoping to inspire an idea for 750 words.

After I got to about 200 words, I said, "You know what? This would be a good column itself. So I just kept jotting down things I thought that were universally true, and one of them was, "The modern environmentalist movement has become the new home of communism." This was right around the time that the Berlin Wall was coming down. The Soviet Union, Glasnost, Perestroika were bombing out.

Gorbachev is not gonna be able to hold on, Reagan was going to emerge triumphant, and the spotted owl was the cause of the day for the militant environmentalists, and Earth First was out there sabotaging forests and timber companies and everything. I simply said that the modern environmentalist movement is the new home of wayward communists, and it is. Well, looky here!

The Daily Caller just posted: "130 Environmental Groups Call for an End to Capitalism -- Environmentalists have declared that global warming can't be stopped without ending the 'hegemonic capitalist system,' saying that cap-and-trade systems and conservation efforts are 'false solutions.'" So all of you who have cut back from an SUV to a lawn mower or to a golf cart or some sort of new hybrid vehicle?

All of you who are going without what you used to use because you want to save the planet? Guess what? It doesn't matter. Guess what? It's not enough. Guess what? It won't work. "'The structural causes of climate change are linked to the current capitalist hegemonic system,' reads the final draft of the Margarita Declaration, presented at a conference including about 130 environmental[ist wacko] groups.

"'To combat climate change it is necessary to change the system,' the declaration adds. Environmental[ist wacko] activists met in the oil-producing, socialist country of Venezuela as part of a United Nations-backed event to increase civil engagement in the lead up to a major climate conference." (interruption) I know you... Here's the thing. Here's... (interruption)

You can't hear it, but my trusty aide-de-camp and loyal chief of staff, H.R. "Kit" Carson -- who is, by the way, screening calls today 'cause Snerdley so enjoyed the spiritual retreat last Friday, he's gone back for three days this week. H.R. just said to me, "You know, I remember when you said that way back then, that the environmental movement was the new home of communism!"

He had just started. He'd just come from the mailroom for Proud Homeowner magazine or some such thing. What was the name of the magazine you worked at? (interruption) Yeah, Practical Homeowner -- not "proud," Practical Homeowner. He came from the mailroom there and started dealing with the overwhelming number of phone calls and mail requests that we were getting when the program was new.

He never knew who I was, and listening to me the first week, his mind was going, "Who is this guy?" You know, he's an actor from Wisconsin. He's saying, "Whoa!" When I claimed that modern environmentalist wackos -- the leftist environmental movement, the peace movement -- communism was their new home and that's who filled the gap in the Soviet Union, he said, "You've gotta be crazy. You can't say that! That's too broad. Every environmental group?"

So he's now seeing, "130 Environmental Groups Call for an End to Capitalism," and then they come out 27 years later and say it. It's not that they just concluded this at 27 years. This is who they've been for 27 years. So, once again... But, H.R., just so you know, I know full well. I have good amount of empathym which you need to be a successful broadcast host like I am.

'Cause you need to be able to understand how the audience reacts to things. You have to be able to, in your mind's eye, see it. I know that's gonna be the reaction a lot of people have. I don't say it to shock people. I say it because it's true. I say it because I believe it and I'm not interested in sugarcoating things, and I realize that it's something, even if other people did believe, they would never say.

Because they're not confident that they're right. That's the difference. I was. I have no doubt. I know these people. I know who they are. I know what makes 'em tick. So it was not hard for me to say. I know that it's something that your average person will not accept. A lot of people are gonna say, "Nah, nah. That's too much for me to sign on to."

But they'll hold it in reserve, and now 27 years later here's the proof: "130 Environmental Groups Call for an End to Capitalism." Whoa! Now, I could just leave it for people to say, "You know I think Rush said that 27 years ago," but I don't trust people to remember that far back. So I just want to take a moment here to remind you and the auditors at the Sullivan Group opinion auditing unit, to make sure they throw this one in the calculations.

If you don’t believe in capitalism, you don’t believe in freedom.

If you don’t believe in freedom, you believe in slavery.

If you believe in slavery, you lose all moral claim to being one of the good guys.

End of story.

“Right Again! The Modern Environmentalist Movement is the Home of Communism”

My brother, radio talkshow caller “Jimmy From Brooklyn” has been saying this for decades on the various shows here in New York. Rush banned him years ago, likely because he consistently made a fool of him (Rush) regarding his poor understanding of the left. This was before Rush mustered the courage to use the “C word” (communism).

Those 130 organizations receive big funding from big global corporations to trot around the world to such conferences and could more openly be named something like Coalition of United NIMBY Tyrants.

Thank you. It was a good presentation, but there’s much more to who the multi-partisan culprits are. Look at local levels in scenic areas of the West. Appearances are everything to them, and they do initiate dishonest gossip.

I never said he was a regular on Rush’s show. But he was on a lot of the other popular conservative radio talkshows, though. ie, Bob Grant, Michael Savage, Steve Marlsberg, Mark Levin... Rush’s screen caller started rejecting his calls. Rush never allows anyone on that will show him up. And there are a lot of people out there who know a lot more about the left and their various organizations than Rush Limbaugh.

With all due respect to your brother, as a regular listener to Rush since 1990, I can attest to the following:

1. I have no recollection of a caller styled as "Jimmy from Brooklyn". I'm not saying he never called (or got on the air), just that I have no recollection of such a caller -- either by that name or one markedly more knowledgable than Limbaugh on that particular subject.

2. Limbaugh has frequently noted that The Wall came down and, simultaneously, the radical environmentalist watermelons began to multiply. It's an observation he's made countless times...since the early nineties.

Please give your brother my regards plus, I suppose, an apology for my being blissfully unaware of him. Ever.

It’s not just Rush that knows little about the various far left organizations and their different front groups, it’s actually most of them. Hannity, for example, rarely, if ever, mentioned that Bill Ayers and his group were communist. Nor the fact that he is still one today. Yet Ayers and the other WU members openly boast(ed) about it. They were even linked to the Soviet Union through agents in Cuba. He never mentioned that the Weather Underground, in addition to Rev Wright (via the phony church movement “Black Liberation Theology”) advocated communist “Black Liberation”. Obviously the murderous Black Liberation Army (and Black Panthers) advocated it. Yet these things were rarely, and in some cases, never, mentioned by Hannity and most of the other hosts, prior to the elections and largely to this day.

Yet one would think what they did say about Obama, Ayers, the WU and Wright should have been sufficient. But leaving these and many other such important historical details out missed a big part of what was happening then as well as today. IMO, Glenn Beck, by far, was the best of the hosts, particularly on the details and various connections between individuals, groups, and movements.

Thanks, but I’m not new. I just can’t find the password to my original ETL account, nor the password to the e-mail I used to create it.

Check out my original home page...
it may take a while to load due to the large size of it.

Jeez, I wonder who you and Jimmy were listening to. But it doesn't sound like the Limbaugh or Hannity shows I was listening tov...

Hannity frequently made mention of the 9/11/01 NYT piece on William Ayers that got buried by the WTC attack. And that Ayers claimed to still be a "communist" (lower case "c").

Hannity is also the one that bought the recordings of Rev. Wright's sermons and played them on his air. He correctly identified them at the time as representative of "black liberation theology" and he accurately described what that meant.

Maybe your brother knows more about the Left's network and organizational super-structure than anybody else in the whole wide world. Certainly, there is much to know about in this regard.

But, a listener to Rush and to Hannity from the outset of the Obama candidacy would be reasonably well-informed on his associates and background.

I'd grant they both hesitated to apply the "C" word to Obama -- but there was no reluctance to apply it to Ayers, Wright, et al.
