42% seems about right.

Blacks comprise 13% of the population and most will support him no matter what. He starts with an automatic 12% of the population supporting him.

Hispanics are 17% of the population and 75% will support him automatically. That gives him another 12%. We are up to 24%.

Asians comprise 5.3% of the population. At least 50% will automatically support a Democrat. This gives us another 2.5% for a total of 26.5%

62.6% of Americans are non-Hispanic whites. Certain groups of whites are liberal and will automatically support a left wing Democrat. These groups include union members, teachers and other academics, government employees, young white females, secular Jews, atheists, urban white professionals. These groups easily comprise 25% of the white population for another 15.5% of the total US population. This explains the 42% approval rating.

I would be happy to do a “poll” myself if someone wishes to pay for it. My guess there would be FAR FEWER in favor of odumbo that 42%. Just exactly where did CNN take their poll, in Washing DC, Detroit, Atlanta, Philly..??????

I believe the majority of Americans (many of whom vote) are ignorant. If you have watched Watters’ World, you will see. Not just young people, either. With all the information available to us at our fingertips, so many just still have no clue what is happening in the country, much less the world.

I have “friends” on FB from different countries and most of them know way more about what is going on than Americans. And I can’t tell you how many young people on social media sites say that they hate to read. How did we raise a generation that has no interest in what is going on around them?

I really don’t see much hope for the future of America.

we need to get all of our purple state governors to set new rules where their blue districts report first.does anyone really believe the tallies coming from blue/purple districts who wait for all of the red districts to report first?Yah,if the Red Candidate is ahead by a few thousand votes and there are at least 4/5 blue districts who will call the votes in last, and they see that there are not enough votes for the Rat to win,do you think they will just “Make Up The Final Tally”?

Barry and his 42% are the people that Alexis de Toqueville warned us about.

Always wondered who they call and where those people called live.

Was they all in the socialist north east or down in the south.

Yeah, I treat these Obama-is-still-popular polls the same way I believe his job numbers.

What a country it would be if just half of those would leave for say, Cuba.

Totally agreed. 42% sucks though, you can’t win any election with 42% and other politicians will run away from you. It’s like saying my grandfather is “holding steady at dead”.

CNN Poll: Obama's numbers not great but holding steady at 42% approval

CNN (Communist News Network) has been in the tank for obozo since the beginning and is thus a totally unreliable source of information. AND like with everything else, THEY COOKED THE BOOKS. Obozo's true rate is probably somewhere in the low 30's.

All the TV and radio “news” outlets, including FOX, always provide a visual and sound platform for the Obama’s personal pronouncements. In addition, they always, always provide the Obama Administration positions in their news WITHOUT THE OPPPOSITION’S CRITICISM.
It is no wonder the general population of this country have not given the ObamaHole a 20% approval rating. The propaganda by the “news” media for the president of the United States is worse now than it was in World War II.
Thank god for the Internet forums.

This poll, and others like it, tells us that 42% of those poled are “LOW INFO VOTERS” (political troglodytes). These are hardcore, dyed-in-the-wool, leftist/liberal/progressive/democrats.

The poll was conducted for CNN by ORC International from July 18-20, with 1,012 adult Americans questioned by telephone.

These polls cannot be trusted to predict future elections, since they don't select out "likely voters".

So what good, if any are they?
Well, for one, it's fascinating to compare different presidents at the same times in their terms.

According to this chart, Presidents Truman, Kennedy/Johnson, Nixon/Ford and Bush II were all around the same levels as O'bama in their sixth year.
Then all but Johnson continued to slide below 30% approval.
Carter and Bush I both fell below 40% in their first term and were not reelected.

Possible that what held Johnson's numbers over 40% are the same factors keeping O'bama's there -- "civil rights" support.
It's also a fact that though Vietnam went badly for Johnson, the economy was doing great, and as somebody famous once said: "it's the economy, stupid".
So Johnson ended his presidency about where O'bama is now.

What does this predict for the future?
Truman, Kennedy/Johnson, Nixon/Ford, Carter, Bush I and Bush II were all followed by presidents from the other party.
