Well, if Ohio is so important this year why was it not important in previous years?

Oh please. I know fire hydrants smarter. It may be nice that his political beliefs hew closely to mine, but he’s a fool and comes across as a fool. He would hurt the GOP.

I sincerely hope that none of the GOP candidates of 2012—all of whom were has-beens and never-will-bes—will throw their hats into the ring in 2016.

The Republican nominee will have to go after Hillary for her horrendous record as SoS.

Having already willingly, needlessly and erroneously praised her as a "Great Secretary of State" Perry cannot do that.

Nor can he with any semblance of credibility critique Obama and the dems for pandering to the ILLEGAL hordes when he himself has a long history of doing just that.

As a Republican nominee, La Raza Rick Perry is a non-starter.

Perry is not my candidate. That would be Cruz. But, if he is nominated, I will vote for him.

BTW, if a GOPe candidate is nominated, I will not vote for him regardless of who he chooses as a running mate or who the Dem nominee is.

Those are contradicting statements. Perry is a Karl Rove protégé. He is the epitome of GOPe.

Sadly, several of the 2012 retreads will, and possibly even a couple from 2008 will try again.

The GOP needs a strong governor to run. I am not sure Perry is it. He is better than some but not all that inspiring. But, I can’t think of any other GOP governor who would be considered outstanding.

Cruz is probably the most conservative, but I don’t care for senators running. Look at the mess we have now and what were their former jobs:

Obama — Pres_ent — Senator
Biden — Vice President — Senator
Hillary Clinton — Sec of State — Senator
John F. Kerry — Sec of State — Senator

And of course, Obama defeated the GOP Nominee, John McCain — Senator for his first term.

Of course, many will be jumping on various bandwagons and chastizing any who oppose their preference.

I ask 2 questions:

1. Is this person the best the GOP can offer?
2. Do you want another also-ran footnote in the annals of history, or do you want to win?

I like Rick Perry, and will support him if he runs. This time, he has the time to prepare, raise funds, develop a network, increase his base. I hope he runs, and I hope he gets elected!

Perry is deploying 1,000 Texas National Guard to the Tex/Mex border over the next month. How that plays out will be a big factor in Perry’s presidential prospects, IMO.

I like Rick Perry. I hope he runs. He and Ted Cruz are the only candidates I’m even interested in.

I live in Texas and I like Ted Cruz for 2016. As far as Perry is concerned, it’s unfair to give him credit for all the above. I think a mop head could have been Gov the last 12 years and our economy with the growing oil business the greatly expanding population, infrastructure, commercial, industrial and residential construction would have done fine. Where I live we are building new schools and almost all water and sewer lines are brand new. Granted today the heat index was 105 in the shade but everything inside is AC. Trust me roughnecks are worth $150K/year.
