On July 15 gun control proponent Mark Kelly husband of Gabby Giffords criticized Gun Owners of America's Larry Pratt for holding the position that the Second Amendment is in place to keep the government in check.
On July 6 Breitbart News revisited Federalist 46 and saw that James Madison believed Americans possess guns in order to keep the government in check.

Mrs. Mark is actually a literal puppet now. Harsh, but true. Mr. Mark is a money grubbing opportunist in my opinion. He can ‘invoke’ her struggle, attribute words and thoughts as her own, but it remains that I have never personally seen a video of her actually speaking the words that have been attributed as hers since her injury at the hands of a liberal maniac.
Using guns to keep the government in check, or even the THOUGHT of having guns for that purpose, just HAS to frost all these big-government worshipers.
The Nationalist Socialist German Workingmen’s Party, which held the reins of government in Germany from 1933 to 1945, had much the same attitude on possession of weapons for home defense, as former mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg.
And nearly as I can tell, the opinions of Mark Kelly pretty much align with those of Bloomberg on matters of gun control.
But you aren’t going to put the genie back in the bottle that way.
Not with guns, or the Natural, unalienable Right to Self-Defense.
I and a few others have been touting Madison’s Federalist #46
for many years. In the arsenal of Second Amendment defense it
is among the most powerful weapons. All 2nd Amendment supporters
need to acquaint themselves with the relevent passages.
Same as James Brady ...
Mark Kelly and Sarah Brady are among the worst of scumbags, perpetrating spousal abuse in public for crass, antiAmerican political purposes.
Not when the Genie (probably 100 Million Americans) have upwards of 300 million guns!
Sarah must REALLY be pi$$ed now that Gabby has supplanted James. I can just see the ‘dagger’ stairs between Mark and Sarah when they happen to cross path at a gungrabbing event.
Gabby was a leftist legislator, so Pratt was talking about her. He’s so feminized, like all leftists, he probably has to squat to urinate.
He could still have a stash of astro-diapers on standby.
How DARE you oppose our god!
Never let a crisis go to waste... or a prop. Ol’ Markymark has it down to a science.
Evidently he wasn’t paying attention in American History class..
The one people should really read is Tench Coxe. A second-tier Founding Father he explictly wrote that the right to keep and bear arms is a check not only on Federal tyranny but also STATE tyranny.
Which renders the whole “militia = National Guard” argument null and void.
The current crisis on the border is a direct result of governments not allowing their people to own guns.Remember Emiliano Zapata’s quote “Para ser libre, un hombre debe tener tres cosas, la tierra, una educacion y un fusil. Siempre un fusil ! (To be free, a man must have three things; land, an education and a rifle. Always a rifle)”
...cause Liberals & Socialist know what's best for you & me.
He is an irrelevancy at this point - thankfully.
I whole hardily agree with Madison, but here is the problem I see, we have the guns, but the gov’t is far from in check.
He may be irrelevant but I have no doubt he and the “mares against anything you like” will be sticking their noses in Nevadans business next legislative session once again. The “mom’s lookin’ for a little ‘action’” have already started their new tactic of getting an initiative on the Nov ‘16 NV ballot to have intergalactic background checks put in place in NV. Sadly, the low/no info types haven’t a clue that these sorts of things have nearly zero impact on crime whatsoever(think chit-cago). Add to that the fact the the NICS denials, when actually valid, are rarely if ever followed up on. So, uh, what’s the point other than “We did something.”? Control of those gun lovin’ bible totin’ America haters like us. WHAT!
We have ‘em and they want to do a “buy back”. Uh, I never did quite understand (actually I do) how you can “buy back” something that you never owned or sold. Makes somebody feel relevant.
