The people behind the idea missed the deadline for this year’s ballot, but now that they have enough signatures — more than 800,000 — they’ve earned a spot on the 2016 ballot. That’s a presidential election year, of course, which means higher turnout. A lot of Democrats are going to end up weighing in on this at the polls.

Without the coastal kooks, California is by far the most conservative state.

I like the map - let the coastal kooks have each other.

Thanks. The Demwits had a very thin majority in that chamber, so they rejected the explusion of Yee. Figures.

Just from looking at the map, I can’t say that any of them would be slam-dunk Republican.

Lets make Vermont, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland and New york combine into one state to help balance things out.

The four that run along the east side would be solidly republican, but “central” might not be conservative republican.

I don’t think it would be that solid. Romney just barely carried Riverside, won Orange but lost the rest in South California....the House breakdown is a bit more labor intensive than I would like but it’s not solid either. I counted 7 R and 6 D but there are several I missed.

Central actually looks decent.

Dems are fairly strong in the western side of North California.

Repubs might do OK in Jefferson but even that is strong Dem in the West.
