The people behind the idea missed the deadline for this year’s ballot, but now that they have enough signatures — more than 800,000 — they’ve earned a spot on the 2016 ballot. That’s a presidential election year, of course, which means higher turnout. A lot of Democrats are going to end up weighing in on this at the polls.

Texas would never do that, I don’t think.

Also, 6 states is way too many. California does seem to be too big and probably should be split up. But I’d think 3 states would be plenty. It’s hard to see the logic here, except as it benefits so called Silicon Alley.

I think it would be good for the nation in just the dividing up of the huge electorial vote that state gets. Either that or change it from a winner take all.

Anyway, you might end up with one or two healthy states and the rest basket cases. It might be sickiningly humorous to read whatever state constitutions those wackos come up with.

They can vote to petition Congress to allow them to do so, but Congress is unlikely to approve such a plan.

Just think! Cauliphonya will have 12 ****ed up Senators instead of just two. You can’t be that with a stick! Adios America! It was good knowing you.

I would support any proposal to separate Lost Angeles from San Diego.

OK, which part of the proposed split do you live in, and would you vote for the split?

There should be only one dividing line. That which divides America from Mexico... unless Mexico wants to petition to be the 58th (or 51st state) but who is counting.

That is one down side. We already have enough ego maniac Senators on both sides of the isle. The ones on the left are by far the worst.
