Divided they stand? Billionaire in push to carve up California into six states

A billionaire tech investor says he has enough backing to put on the ballot a plan to split California into six states.

Timothy Draper, a venture capitalist founder of a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm that has invested in such tech companies as Twitter, HotMail, Skype and Tesla, told Reuters he has the 808,000 signatures needed on a petition to force the measure onto a public referendum in November 2016. Under the far-fetched plan, one state would be called "Silicon Valley" and would include the tech mecca, as well as San Francisco.

"California needs a reboot," Draper, who has spent $4.9 million of his own money on the effort, said in a press release. "Six Californias is our opportunity to solve the many problems we face today. ... Six states that are more representative and accountable. Six states that embrace innovation and strive to improve the lives of residents."

Draper's group plans to submit the signatures today, according to a Tweet.

A state dubbed "Jefferson" would include the northernmost portion; "South California" would be comprised of San Diego and eastern Los Angeles while the rest of L.A. would be called "West California." A province called "North California" would be built around Sacramento, and "Central California" would be made up of the central valley farm region, including Tulare and Fresno counties.

Correct me if I'm wrong with my thinking but wouldn't four of the six states be controlled by democratic city's?

Hmmm, He must have been sitting around thinking “How can we guarantee a Democratic controlled Senate until the end of time... Of course! We will just add a dozen commies!”

He wants to get rid of the poorer parts. Doesn’t want to be burdened with such uglyness.

Great! Does that mean we’ll get 6 Nancy Pelosi’s instead of just ONE?

Yes. And it’s going to drive more LibTards to the polls in a State that is SO Liberal that they sit at home. And then there is the “no way in Hell it EVERY gets approved by Congress” thing plus the “no chance it ever passes”.

Just some self-aggrandizing moron who is aiding the LibTards in killing Conservatism. SO sick of stupid “conservatives”. They are our worst enemy.

"South California" would be comprised of San Diego and eastern Los Angeles while the rest of L.A. would be called "West California."

Mexico's got dibs on those two.

This would dilute Caifornia’s economic power and anymore that’s more important than their political power.

I have a better and a simpler idea. Let’s keep California, but sequester west L.A. and the Bay Area into a U.S. Territory. That would pretty much solve all our problems with that state.

The state of Jefferson would be created from the far north part of California, bordering Oregon, and would consist of fourteen counties: Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Plumas, Siskiyou, Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity.

The state of North California would be south of Jefferson spanning from the Pacific Ocean to Nevada. North California would consist of thirteen counties: Amador, El Dorado, Marin, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Solano, Sonoma, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba. Silicon Valley

The state of Silicon Valley would span the coastline from San Francisco to Monterey. It would consist of eight counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey.

The state of Central California would be between Silicon Valley and Nevada. It would consist of the fourteen counties north of Los Angeles and south of Sacramento: Alpine, Calaveras, Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare and Tuolumne.

The state of West California would be south of Silicon Valley and Central California, and west of San Bernardino County. It would consist of four counties: Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles and Ventura.

The state of South California would be made up of the southernmost part of the state. It would consist of five counties: Imperial, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego.

Not entirely...

Jefferson would be sending one rep and two senators from the Green Party to DC.

Silicon Valley would have Nancy, Bahbwa Boxer and Lady Di Feinswein and a whole boatload of s—t house rat crazy barking moonbat libs, so no change there.

North CA would have all the leftover Sacramento Dem leaches, so the parasite class would be well represented in DC.

Central CA might be split between the land owning farmers and the Hispanic farmworkers that would probably end up mostly dem.

West CA - La Raza and MeCHA get a whole lot of reps and two senators.

South CA - San Diego and Orange County might be able to put in one GOPe Senator and a few conservative reps, so that would be a 50-50 split, probably.

Not completely correct as mentioned further down about have 12 more ‘rat senators, but 10-2 is still a pretty good pick-up...

Requires approval of 3/4 of other states. Would they be eager to dilute their power? NO!

It would be nice to have representation again at the federal level. But most importantly to me, it would be nice to be rid of the tyrants of Sacramento.
