A man killed himself at Burning Man-style arts festival by leaping into a towering burning art structure in front of hundreds of horrified onlookers, authorities and witnesses said.

On Monday, scores of "burners" - who commune in the Nevada desert every August for Burning Man -were mourning the doomed festivalgoer after he dove into the flames during a moonlit bonfire ritual at the Element 11 fest near Salt Lake City late Saturday.

Sounds a bit like a Satanic ritual. Is this part of the New Ager religion?

Hardcore attention whoring or a drug induced “euphoric” ruination, maybe a little of both.

Or it’s neo-paganism (new Satanism) that’s the way I see.

Maybe... But that’s part of freedom too. People choose what they choose out of free will.

To me, I just see a bunch of youngsters cutting loose in the desert for a few days, acting like morons here and there maybe, but overall, they’re not harming anyone. They’re not the ones passing laws robbing me of what I worked for, banning me from protecting myself, telling me what I can and can’t do on my own property, what kind of lightbulbs I can and can’t use... etc., etc., ad nauseaum...

Which of us hasn’t wished, just once, to be able to just hang out and do nothing, to be completely away from the stress and pressures of life, bills, work, politics, laws, criminal politicians, and all the other myriad bullscheisse we put up with everyday, aging us beyond our years faster than we ever imagined?

To me, it would be a neat thing - to be that free and unencumbered for just a little while, once in my life.

But everyone’s different.

He took Garth Brooks seriously.

One of the first songs I learned on guitar, way back ‘75.

Heard the live version of it on “Made In Europe”... that and “Lady Double Dealer”...

Blackmore could play his ass off..

Freedom to sin (without our country and states’ laws) to restrict us, yes that is natural, but it also leads to bondage in which ONE (Christ) can free a person.

The whole thing started out as a modern variation of the wicker man sacrificial rite so you may be right.
