Sen. Ted Cruz: These are the Fahrenheit 451 Democrats (Proposal-Repeal Free Speech)
http://www.youtube.com/ ^ | July 10, 2014 | SenTedCruz

Posted on 07/10/2014 9:00:29 PM PDT by Whenifhow

Mr. Chairman, this is the single most radical and most dangerous proposal introduced in the 113th congress.

If this proposal were adopted, it would repeal the free speech protections of the first amendment.

The breadth of this proposal is astonishing. It should lead the evening news on every station.

It saddens me that 46 democratic senators have signed their name to a constitutional amendment expressly repealing the free speech provisions of the Bill of Rights.

Ted Cruz continues....

There are a whole bunch of posters on Free Republic -- many of them trolls, obviously -- who join in every Ted Cruz thread to criticize him for not being perfect as far as their standards go. I think he may be the last best hope for our Republic, and we should begin to very earnestly support him for President in 2016. Time seems to be getting very short.

I’m not sure if they are trolls or not, they could be - but, they certainly are purists. I’m shocked that 46 Republicans signed on to take away our 1st Amendment Rights. Wonder who those traitors are: Graham, McCain, Markowski, and Collins come to mind as they always vote with the DEMS. Well, not always, but most of the time.

"The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures."

Never happen.

Since the 'rats have absolutely no accomplishments to run on -- make that absolutely no positive accomplishments to run on -- they're going to run against the Koch brothers. Good luck! Nobody knows the Koch brothers from the man-in-the-moon, and they won't in November.

Oops, guess I misread that line. Oh well, the usual suspects in the RINO party are DEMS in camo anyway.

It appeared to be a “mark up” meeting, so I don’t think it was voted on.

Still, just that the democrats introduced this demonstrates their mindset.

They want to repeal that which gives them power to repeal.
Any explanation for their end game? There is a game plan somewhere..

Thad Cochran is an absolute worm. And instead of pointing out the disgraceful tactics that Cochran used to get elected and properly excoriating him, Ted Cruz congratulated him and scolded the GOP for possible voter fraud but SAID NOTHING about the Cochran campaign using disgusting tactics to beat McDaniel. Mark Levin cowered the other night and didn’t ask Cruz why he congratulated a scumbag like Cochran. So why don’t you (whom I guessing would label me a troll) answer?

Why would any conservative with integrity congratulate a candidate who allowed his campaign to brand a good man as a racist in order to win an election?

How the Court Became Supreme

by Robert Lowry Clinton, FirstThings, January 1999 firstthings.com/article/1999/01/001-how-the-court-became-supreme

Sadly, since 1954 when we "sold ourselves into slavery" with Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka (Paul Robeson was running around Russia, giving America's 60 Families a black eye, the rest of Congress wouldn't stand up to Dixiecrats to give African-Americans educational equity, so an unelected elite was chosen for the job), this is the first example of the Legislative Branch interpreting the Constitution—and look what we're getting out of it.
