EXCLUSIVE--TEXAS AG ABBOTT TO BLM: 'COME AND TAKE IT'
Breitbart ^ | April 22, 2014 | By Bob Price

Posted on 04/22/2014 1:56:16 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

After Breitbart Texas reported on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) intent to seize 90,000 acres belonging to Texas landholders along the Texas/Oklahoma line, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott questioned the BLM’s authority to take such action.

“I am about ready,” General Abbott told Breitbart Texas, “to go to go to the Red River and raise a ‘Come and Take It’ flag to tell the feds to stay out of Texas.”

Gen. Abbott sent a strongly-worded letter to BLM Director Neil Kornze, asking for answers to a series of questions related to the potential land grab.

“I am deeply concerned about the notion that the Bureau of Land Management believes the federal government has the authority to swoop in and take land that has been owned and cultivated by Texas landowners for generations,” General Abbott wrote. “The BLM’s newly asserted claims to land along the Red River threaten to upset long-settled private property rights and undermine fundamental principles—including the rule of law—that form the foundation of our democracy. Yet, the BLM has failed to disclose either its full intentions or the legal justification for its proposed actions. Decisions of this magnitude must not be made inside a bureaucratic black box.”

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart Texas, General Abbott said, “This is the latest line of attack by the Obama Administration where it seems like they have a complete disregard for the rule of law in this country ...And now they’ve crossed the line quite literally by coming into the State of Texas and trying to claim Texas land as federal land. And, as the Attorney General of Texas I am not going to allow this.”

“...Once the state is shown to be ineffective in enforcing its will, it will either fade or escalate to bloodshed....”

With that said, I can pretty much damn well tell ya what it will be in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
These ain’t limp-wristed, lib “whimp” states like CT and NY. The only ones with more guns than Texans are probably the Louisiana coonasses, and rest assured, you sure as hell don’t want them comin’ after ya. Those old boys over there got ways of doin’ ya in that you’ve not even dreamed of.

Americans by birth, Texans by choice.

I'll admit there's one thing I do miss about Pennsylvania that happens only very rarely here in the Lone Star State: strikes! I always got energized by getting in the face of union thugs and fearlessly crossing their picket lines, looking the goons squarely in the eye. For example, I would travel out of my way during the drive home to shop at Kroger when a strike was in progress just to show the unionistas that they couldn't intimidate me. Of course, they eventually got their way with Kroger -- that Ohio-based grocery store chain closed all their stores in Pennsylvania.

Well, like Justice Thomas said, there’s 2 views of the law: original intent or just make it up.

This gang of thugs excels in making stuff up.

Didn’t GHW Bush also agree to this scheme when he was President? I didn’t bookmark the thread, but I did read something to that effect.

It is about time the States get some gumption and make a stand. (I don’t mean take the stand in a court room.) If they don’t the people will. The latter I will guarantee will be very ugly, but successful. Things need to be sorted out soon if my children are going to have freedom and liberty. The sorting out is simple ... Makers vs. Takers. Cull the herd.

Upstate NY and CTRL have their own traditions of defiance, starting with the Revolution. The West has had an odd relationship with the powers in DC for a long time. The old range wars had federal troops fighting state troops and militias quite often.

I’m sorry, but Wendy is sort of “dirty” looking. “Trashy”, to speak like my blessed Grandmother. Maybe a good bath would help.

"Agenda 21. that’s your ultimate answer."

I used to think that was paranoid kr@p. Now I realize that the leftist NGOs and their plants in the bureaucracy are all about getting there no matter what (or how long) it takes.

they eventually got their way with Kroger -- that Ohio-based grocery store chain closed all their stores in Pennsylvania.

Got their way just across the river in Ohio too. The kroger store was struggling to stay open and trying to find ways to keep their employees. So what did the union do? Yep, strike. Closed the store forever. Now we have to drive long distances if we want to shop Kroger.
