A Denver woman was allegedly shot to death by her own husband while on the phone with police after he consumed marijuana edibles and began hallucinating.
Kristine A. Kirk clung to her phone with a 911 dispatcher for nearly 15 minutes before her final scream was accompanied by a piercing gunshot late Monday night, NBC reported.
When officers arrived at the 44-year-old's home they reported finding the mother of three dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

I was always told that marijuana could increase already present mental problems in certain people. Not everyone reacts the same to marijuana.
If a person is paranoid, pot can increase that proclivity.
Don’t really know how true that is. But if it is, I would not be surprised because many mind altering drugs can have that effect.
I do not think this is about the comparison of dope vs alcohol. Alcohol has known effects because it has been legal a long time. There has been long term scrutiny. That does not excuse any scrutiny of short or long term pot use. The effects of everyday use may just now being assessed.
Exactly...or so I've heard.
Reminds me of a bit from Bill Cosby about Cocaine. Someone told him that it enhances your personality. He replied "Okay what if your an A$$hole?"
Not classified as hallucinogen, but can cause hallucinations. The following are coded ICD 9 diagnoses:
Cannabis Induced Psychotic Disorder, with hallucinations
Cannabis Intoxication, with hallucinations
Studies support marijuana as causing psychotic episodes.
Marijauna is more deleterious to the lungs than cigarettes.
Not near enough chromium.
I take 200mcgs 4 times a day, divided.
I take extra one if I have a spike after eating something I shouldn’t have.
[like chocolate]
Yep, the one time I tried it is college I flipped out. Never tried another drug. I mentioned this on a previous thread on FR and was called all kind of liar (years back). Everyday more evidence shows that those that say "it is a safe mellow drug" are lying through their teeth.
It depends on the person. Pot is a mind altering drug and God made our minds so complex that finding a drug that works perfectly on everyone is near impossible.
I did the same with the same result. Never did it again.
Thanks, Sal, I’ll try some. I don’t think my blood sugar is as bad or I would have more of a problem. I know it’s not as bad as it was 25 years ago but I learned then to just eat something whether I wanted to or not.
My mother never took a recreational drug her whole life. When it comes to a pain killer, she requires a higher dose or they don’t work. I am much the same.
I have really bad arthritis. I gave up trying to take a drug for it. I take a couple aspirin a day, if that doesn’t work, I live with it. I am 62 years old and only fill two prescriptions. Many have been written for me and I never fill them.
I think I am better off.
I am convinced that we are breeding the survival gene out of Americans.

I’m not saying that I know the answer - but I am asking the question. I do think that it is safe to say that neither in anything other than small and occasional quantities does people a world of good. That alcohol kills brain cells is not an arguable point; there is overwhelming and conclusive hard scientific evidence (as defined by actual science, not global warming science) for this. Which ones, and how many can be spared, is the issue. “Everything in moderation”...a cliche, as old as the science of medicine itself...still good advice.
I agree, but for many people, moderation is not an option. If you know what I mean;)
Oh good grief. Next thing we will hear is it can grow a new mother for the kids in the article.
Per the people who have heard the 911 call he was still eating it while the wife was on the phone with 911.
I have actually heard this argument as silly as it sounds.
Just quoting someone. They actually suggested this.
What scares me is that they are telling young kids this as an excuse for them to try it for the first time.
It doesnt happen much but you can hallucinate on pot. It has to be very good or strong grade. But just because a person is hallucinating does not mean they cant think straight. I know that doesnt sound right but it’s true.
