I do not think this is about the comparison of dope vs alcohol. Alcohol has known effects because it has been legal a long time. There has been long term scrutiny. That does not excuse any scrutiny of short or long term pot use. The effects of everyday use may just now being assessed.

I’m not saying that I know the answer - but I am asking the question. I do think that it is safe to say that neither in anything other than small and occasional quantities does people a world of good. That alcohol kills brain cells is not an arguable point; there is overwhelming and conclusive hard scientific evidence (as defined by actual science, not global warming science) for this. Which ones, and how many can be spared, is the issue. “Everything in moderation”...a cliche, as old as the science of medicine itself...still good advice.
