Liberals are winning the language war
Reuters ^ | 4/11/2014 | Keith Koffler

Are conservatives linguistically challenged? Or are they just naïve enough to think they can win the battle of ideas with — ideas?

Okay, and money.

Conservatives, like liberals, will spend huge amounts of money this year to get their ideas across to voters. But what they fail to do is bundle their thoughts into a bright, shiny linguistic package that explodes in the face of their enemies when opened.

The left has assembled a rich lexicon of phrases that serve either as stilettos that can be turned again and again in the guts of their opponents, or shields that obscure their true intentions.

The phrasing can be at best vicious, at worst dishonest. But conservatives should consider concocting some nasty comebacks, lest they continue to be perceived as Neanderthals battling forces of progress.

Did I just use the term “Neanderthal”? You immediately knew I couldn’t have meant liberals, because liberals are enlightened. They are Cro-Magnons, each and every one.

Now you see the problem.

Herewith, a list of the top liberal epithets and euphemisms. Let’s start with the former:

War on Women: When Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) noted a few weeks ago that Democrats, who accuse Republicans of waging a “war on women,” were strangely unappalled by President Bill Clinton’s “predatory” behavior, he was slyly undermining one of the worst charges lodged by Democrats.

Really? A war on women? This is blandly repeated by Democrats everywhere as accepted science. But how foolish. One supposedly hates women because . . .

Those votes are all a matter of public record. As SOL pointed out, it’s easy to check.

Personally, I was surprised as hell that the GOP actually stood in lock-step on it. I expected a couple of them to fold like cheap lawn chairs.

They didn’t, and we should let them know when they get it right.

As for “Blue Dog Democrats” - one wonders what their true motivation was for crossing “Her Psychosisness”. Are any of them even left in Congress now?

Rank and file people simply do not care.

They are totally fine being zombie voters

They are totally fine voting for the free stuff candidate.

Take for example seniors in the “retirement communities”, they still operate under the delusion of democrats want them alive or even need they alive to vote.

Mumble social security and democrat and the zombie seniors ride their scooters to the poling booth and voter for the headless horseman.

They don’t care. City dwellers don’t care. Rural dwellers collecting government benefits do not care. A few thousand people on fr can not compete against cbsnbccnnmsnbcabc on a day in day out basis.

a chunk of the I don’t care voters already have decided to vote “d” regardless of reality.

RE :”Those votes are all a matter of public record. As SOL pointed out, it’s easy to check.”

easy for SOL to check, and you know he will LOL

I will tell you what,
plenty of times I tune into Rush or Levin and they tell their listeners that Dems always voted in lockstep, and only the GOP has those who don't vote pure.

Then they complain that the GOP doesn't use their (those same) talking points in debates with Dems...???!!! Not everyone has the luxury of isolation.

Living for 4+ decades in the reddest (in the Communist sense) state in the USA, I have a VERY concentrated hatred for Democrats. I often post that the best way to eliminate them is to dust off the playbook from the Third Reich and actually ELIMINATE them.

That said, trash like Snowe is just that, trash. I despise them almost as much as I do Democrats. But, if my only choices are a RINO that will give me 10% of what I want or a RAT that will give me 0%, I have to go with the RINO*. We are in survival mode here, people.

*Until the RINO can be replaced with an actual Republican, then f*** ‘em. Sort of like how the supposed “Blue Dog” RATs were useful for the rest of the RATs until they were replaced by full-on insane RATs. If you can’t adapt tactics in a war, you lose, period. We have room-to-room urban combat going on here; lining up, Civil War style, ain’t winning anything.

We’re one SCOTUS Justice away from becoming the USSR. I’ll take what I can get today and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

I have had it with Grahamnesty.
I don’t care if a Dem takes his seat, I want him gone.

He votes for Obama’s judges anyway.

He is everything I despise in a Republican, and he is outright deceitful (to us, not to Dems) which really gets me.

Collins is a lib. She is elected by libs in a lib state . No news flashes there.

Voting no were 34 Democrats and 178 Republicans.

So what. A few Dems strayed. They didn’t go run to TV cameras for weeks on end and slam their party did they?

It’s instructive you ignore my point about Snowe because it doesn’t fit your agenda. Obamacare became law with the help of a progressive GOPer. Before we can repeal the Dem agenda we must have party willing to consistently engage them. That will never happen with the progressive GOP wing attacking conservative opposition from the rear while the Dems/MSM attack frontally.

RE :”So what. A few Dems strayed. They didn’t go run to TV cameras for weeks on end and slam their party did they?”

WTH ???!!!
You didn't post ‘A few Dems strayed.’ , a few being 34

You posted “no blue dog Dem crossed Pelosi on the obamacare vote”

WORD FOR WORD.

If 34 house Dems voting against Obamacare didn't matter to your point then you would have said that in a first place, not claim that NONE of them did, as you did.

There are always going to be unfair things in this mortal coil. But to blame the unfairness on people who strive to elevate virtue, which in turn gives everyone a fairer chance by known rules, is, well, unfair.

Make sure he’s still quietly sobbing the corner, or I’ll break his Barry Manilow 33 1/3 record collection and confiscate his autographed Elton John underpants.

Gives new meaning to the song "Rocket Man", don't it?
