Though Robert H. Richards IV was convicted of rape, the wealthy heir to the du Pont family fortune was spared prison by a Delaware court in 2009 because he would "not fare well" behind bars, according to court documents CNN obtained Tuesday.
Richards is a great-grandson of the chemical magnate Irenee du Pont.
He received an eight-year prison sentence in 2009 for raping his toddler daughter, but the sentencing order signed by a Delaware judge said "defendant will not fare well" in prison and the eight years were suspended.

As an aside, what's the problem with DuPont heirs? First the lunatic John DuPont murders a wrestler that he was infatuated with, and now we have this guy. I've heard of families regressing, but this is ridiculous.

Because laws that provided such penalties were struck down by the “Supreme” (I always laugh when I type or say that) Court. Not too long ago, 4 - 6 years or so, there were such laws.

This judge should be impeached.
I have often advocated that child molesters, when released should be placed for a number of years in the neighborhoods where the judges live. I think we’d see much longer sentences then.

This is going on 20 years of appeals. DNA & confession proved he did it.
He raped, strangled to death with her OWN SHOE LACES 8 year old Ashley ‘Nicki’ Read and then threw her body in the river. Even helped hunt for what was thought to be a missing child. Justice has been denied, her mom Debbie still grieves as there is no closure allowed by the Injustice system.
A ruling like that ought to be grounds for impeachment of the judge. A violation of the obligation to do equal justice to rich and poor.

I think there is something hidden about this story. It involves Beau Biden who was the DA at the time. Both the judge and Biden being democ-rats, was this scum a democ-rat too or did his rich family contribute money ?
