Ukraine Claims 100,000 Russian Troops Near Border
AFP ^ | March 27, 2014

Nearly 100,000 Russian forces have massed on Ukraine's border, a top Ukrainian defense official told an American audience Thursday, giving a number far higher than US military estimates.

"Almost 100,000 soldiers are stationed on the borders of Ukraine and in the direction ... of Kharkiv, Donetsk," Andriy Parubiy, chairman of Ukraine's national security council, said via a webcast from Kiev.

"Russian troops are not in Crimea only, they are along all Ukrainian borders. They're in the south, they're in the east and in the north," Parubiy said.

Interesting photo of Kerry meeting with Lavrov taking their seats for meeting.... Wed at the Hague...none looked too happy..

Notice rolls or cupcakes (but no knives) on the table, then read my tagline. However, same result as we have no cards to play in this match-up.

That’s a damn lie. The Ukrainian freedom fighters were justified in removing that Russian toadie scum who was stealing the country blind.

Don’t know how long Putin can stage this on the border...he has to feed these troops etc.

At any rate....the International Leaders continue to poke the Bear...and he clearly said “springs recoil when they’re pushed too hard.”

Until the crisis in Ukraine the EU and Russia were not geopolitical competitors......But as the EU kept expanding it’s membership to include ten new countries, many of them former Soviet satellites and three republics of the former Soviet Union from about 2004 on...Putins been warning the EU and the US......

The EU forced an “either-or of Russia or EU” choice, which Russia always warned against.....and then the active involvement of the US in their political affairs as we know now...helping to organize, support and fund the MAiden Protests. Even after concessions were made by their elected Pres the MAiden had requested...they refused...and the mess exploded.

So With this being directly on Russians border..and his warm water port...I cannot blame him for protecting it, we’d do the same...they called his bluff and here we are.

Ukraine is pretty pithed off about this, it is what I am hearing. It’s even driving Christians and Muslims together, they are angrier at Russia than they are at one another and all are praying to God as they understand Him to achieve justice. The Christians are high minded as is our bent, but seems to me the Muslim segment could get pretty nasty.

I pity dear Comrade Vladi . . . all those tiny nations on the Russian periphery, with the freedom to do as they please without asking his permission.

Oh that’s funny! Cupcakes!

Yes, unfortunately we are much limited from all the info I’ve seen...and further Ukrain has just 6,000 troops battle ready...years of not training or equipping their military has resulted in them having no military defense to speak of. Yet the Eu and US expect them to battle if it comes to that.

Sickens me Obama insulted them and so did the Eu by sending blankets and rations......a few tanks etc. to fight with.

All the armament from Nato is on the Baltic borders to “protect them” as they are NAto Members..Ukraine is not. I don’t think they’ll rush in...I do think this will go right up to whoever blinks....and that’s pretty alarming....someone will have to yield.

Time to let the Chinese know that they should feel free to protect their ethnic brethren in Eastern Russia while Vlad is looking the other way. :)

Stronger trading blocks do not “poke” the bear. Russia alone with its eleven time zones can market its wares and natural resources to Europe no matter how strong Europe is economically. Putin knows Europe is not a threat militarily unless he has ambitions for rolling into places he shouldn’t.

Putin’s beef isn’t with Ukraine....it’s with the Eu/US/Nato’s Global Agenda push to gobble up nations on his area of influence. They went too far by going after Ukraine. Prior Ukraine being “neutral” was not an issues for Putin....simply was a buffer zone for him and they both traded and did business etc.

I’m livid with the EU and US they knew this would more than push Putin’s buttons....and as always they make a mess when they go too far and don’t know enough to back off.

Two opposing egos never get along very well. Tensions escalate needlessly. It could have been seen the other way too; Russia weighing on Kiev too much from the NATO point of view.

It had not been long enough since the USSR collapsed for the Bear’s ego wounds to be salved.

In the long run, God punishes all stubborn wickedness, and sin produces no profit.
