Obama: I'm Concerned About a Loose Nuke Being Detonated in Manhattan
Weekly Standard ^ | March 25, 2014 | By Daniel Halper

Romney still wrong about Russia, says Obama.

Speaking at a brief news conference in the Hague, President Obama said he's more worried about a loose nuke being detonated in Manhattan than he is about Russia:

"With respect to Mr. Romney's assertion that Russia is our number one geopolitical foe, the truth of the matter is that America has a whole lot of challenges," said the president.

"Russia is a regional power that is threatening some of its immediate neigbors, not out of strength, but out weakness.

"Ukraine has been a country which Russia had enormous influence for decades, since the break-up of the Soviet Union, and we have considerable influence on our neighbors, we generally don't need to invade them in order to have a strong cooperative relationship with them. The fact that Russia felt compelled to go in militarily and laid bear these violations of internationl law indicates less influence not more.

"So my response then continues to be what I believe today, which is: Russia's actions are a problem. They don't pose the number one national security threat to the United States. I continue to be much more concerned when it comes to our security with the prospect of a nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan," said Obama.

Clinton unilaterally signed a pact, but it was not ratified by the senate and still is not to this day.

I think if the NY banks were wiped out, Charlotte, NC could take over. While driving through on my way to Florida in 1999, I talked to one ham radio operator there and he told me that it was the banking center of The South.

“I think if the NY banks were wiped out, Charlotte, NC could take over. “

During the 2008 financial crisis the New York syndicate took care of its own and tried to remove the Charlotte threat by forcing Wachovia to merge with Citicorp. The government and Fed would have taken care of the bad debt of both banks and Citicorp would have taken Wachovia’s very profitable national retail network. The deal as structured was so sweat, Wells Fargo swept in and took over Wachovia. In any event the objective was achieved and a powerful Charlotte bank was taken out of the system. Later, Ally Bank (formerly GMAC) was convinced to stop the in process move of its headquarters from Detroit to Charlotte.

Breaking up the New York bank cabal, and reigning in the Federal Reserve, must be accomplished to return the US to free market principles. The concentration of banking power on Wall Street has resulted in New York having too much control of investment capital allocation in the US and has encourage banks to speculate globally with the deposits and retirement savings of American citizens. We need more competition in the banking business, not the current concentration of assets in the hands of a few government allied “too big to fail” institutions.

Ally is chartered in Utah. However the CEO of Ally, I think, used to be the CFO of the Charlotte B0A bank.

“I always wonder why some rogue nut cake or terrorist hasn’t set one off also.”

It actually would not have much effect. In 2011, the world financial system was located mostly in NYC. Since 9-11, all the financial systems have backup capability outside NYC.

A nuke in NYC would kill a lot of people but it would not be a crippling blow to the world’s monetary system.

A high altitude EMP might have better effect at crippling the USA.

The USA is actually pretty well backup up regarding most industries. We have a lot of redundancy and our economy is now pretty hard to kill with one nuke.

If you look at the Ally Bank website it states the corporate headquarters is in Detroit. The website lists regional headquarters in Salt Lake, among other cities including Charlotte.

Michael Carpenter, CEO of Ally, per the corporate officer biography previously worked at Citicorp, GE Capital, Travelers Insurance and his own investment firm. He became CEO in 2009. No mention of BOA in his resume.

Jeffrey Brown, who became President and CEO of Ally’s dealer finance division in March 2014, was Treasurer of BOA in Charlotte prior to joining Ally in 2009 in a corporate planning role.

The corporate headquarters is not where the bank is chartered.

Ally Bank has an unusual charter in Utah - not Michigan. IIRC the charter is some kind of mining charter. Very few banks have that kind of charter. It has some restraints in its charter as to what they are able to do as a bank.

The former CFO of Bank of America who went to GMAC Financial and Ally was Al de Molina.

BTW Ally has some very good rates.

So when one country invades another it is out of weakness? Could he be any more obtuse and naïve?

he’s’out of the country right now.

the mh370 plane is still missing. there are eyewitnesses in the maldives wo reported a large low flying jumbo jet - huge noise - flying overheard. the maldives are in the path to diego garcia.

where us navy and other forces could rig the thing up with a nuke and fly it into nyc or dc. while obama’s conveniently out of the country, safe while the false flag goes off.

he’s tried this before with charleston sc. he then sacked a bunch of airforce officers who thwarted it.

Not a chance in hell that a nuke comes from Russia or China. They understand that all of their cities would then be obliterated.

Terrorists on the other hand are religious fanatics who are far more difficult to retaliate against.

If a nuclear bomb goes off in Manhattan it will go GOP?

I must assume this is a joke because no one can be stupid enough to express that as a serious opinion.
