Mitt Romney on Tuesday joined a growing chorus of Republicans urging the Arizona governor to veto a bill that would allow business owners to cite their religious beliefs in refusing service to gay people.

The former Massachusetts governor tweeted at Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R), saying it “is right” to veto the bill passed by the state legislature last week.

All I did was post this, that started further discussion, in your case you followed it by expressing little interest in his abortion issues, and not seeming to understand my reasons for why he can’t run again.

You still want to avoid the real reasons, mainly abortion.

To: castlegreyskull
*””I have a feeling Romney is going to run again.””*

He can’t, the biggest hurdle for Romney was convincing the primary voters that his mysterious and unexplained epiphany that he had in 2005, to switch him (and his wife) from being rabidly pro-abortion for his (and her’s) entire life, to a sudden pro-life position at age 58 (her’s at age 56), just in time to run for president, was a tough sell, Ann was never asked to explain what made her switch at the same time.

After winning the nomination, Romney announced on CBS that he was for abortion in “health of the mother” and was opposed to the pro-life platform of his party, he then ran pro-abortion ads in Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin, which probably cost him the election.

Romney will not be able to make yet another switch to pro-life, for yet another run.

Yes whats that got to do with anything ???

Mormons can be as pro-abortion, pro-same sex marriage, and have porn movies in the hotel rooms just as much as non-mormons..

Their white shirts and dark ties don’t make them virtuous or Godly...

I believe that he once said that he supported abortion because his mother did, maybe he supports homosexuality because there is one in his family.

Reagan had to try several times. Goldwater was destroyed by the extremist label and Reagan had to get past Mr. Milquetoast Gerald Ford.

Yeah but that is the image that they project— all spiffy and clean but it kind of looks like there is a dichotomy between the clean living Mormon image and the worship of Mammon ethic. You know that Vegas was funded by Mormon bankers. There seems to be some major hypocrisy here. Maybe they believe there is no such thing as dirty money.

It’s a dumb bill and only hurts Arizona and our cause. Why not eliminate all the “human rights” laws that limit Freedom of Thought and Conscience?

We already have the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. That you own a business doesn’t mean you give those rights up. You cannot and must not be forced to deal with those you don’t want to. That’s another basic freedom, the Freedom of Association.

about Willard Mitt Romney’s connection to the Marriot Hotel chain..

His first name Willard ...His father George Romney was a good friend of Willard Marriot..

Willard Mitt Romney has been on and off the board of Marriot hotels for some years..

its a well paid position and I say on and off because when he was going to run for POTUS in 2008 Willard suddenly gave up his cozy board position sometime in 2007 ..until after Feb 2008 when he was back on the board again...

again sometime before primary season 2012 Willard once again dropped off the board at Marriott’s until after Nov 2012 and now yes hes back on the board again...

now lets look at why it was politically expedient for Willard not to be associated with the Marriot Hotel chain...

Well that ones easy...

like you said the “clean image”...

Marriott’s have for years offered filthy pay-per-view adult/porn movies in their rooms ..just like their welcome to homosexual customers its an in-your-face to Christians who want to stay at a hotel with their families..

all you have to do is turn to that channel and you get charged at the desk so easy a child could do it..

in all the years “squeaky clean family man” Willard has been on the board he never got Marriott’s to drop their very profitable porn movies in the room..

Willard is not just any old Joe schmo Mormon he has influence in the Mormon religion..hes been a bishop and a stake president ...was called “President Romney”..thats like saying cardinal Romney or at least arch bishop Romney... if he had wanted the porn dropped it would have been...

and anyway why is a “clean living” Mormon even associated with a company that deals in pornography ???

so know its no surprise for some of us that Willard is demanding the gov of AZ to veto that bill...

I have read your last post a few times. When a candidate changes his stance on any issue, one has to wonder how strong of a leader he might be. Changing a stance on abortion is the worst, because it is a thinly veiled attempt to win votes on either side of the issue. Abortion is one of he worst crime of humanity that will exist in my lifetime.

I will say that the Democrats use it as a trap, where it is hard for a GOP candidate navigate through. If they decide to have a strong anti-abortion stance then they can quickly point out that they are part of the “war on women”. If they are pro-abortion then nationally a GOP candidate loses its base. Being pro-abortion in Massachusetts, considering its voting demographics was a winning formula for Romney. I think he conveniently changed his stance to win over conservatives nationally.

I cannot say what his real belief on abortion really is. Ideally his Mormon faith and his commitment to it, should have shown to everyone he has a strong moral compass and that he also believe it is a travesty. I believe that he does. Unfortunately he also tries to say whatever he thinks people want to hear to continue gaining political power for the Presidency. Perhaps we would have finally saw the real Romney, but we would have all had to wait until his second term.

Sometimes, I wonder what most in the DNC really believes about abortion. I have my doubts that even if Romney or any President takes office there is little they can do about the matter except appoint as many anti-abortion judges as possible.

If you read my post then you know that Romney has been pro-abortion all of his life, he didn't adopt the position because of Massachusetts.

The entire Romney family has been pro-abortion since at least 1963, and BISHOP Romney, Temple Mormon Romney, is not in disagreement with his religion over abortion, the Romney family immigrated to America to serve Joseph Smith in 1842, and are Mormon royalty and leaders.

You might not want to admit what his abortion position is, but there is no way that you can't know it.

Romney-August 2012-CBS interview
""PELLEY: Well, the platform as written at this convention for the Republicans does not allow for exceptions on abortion with regard to the health of the mother or rape or incest. Is that where you are?

ROMNEY: No. My position has been clear throughout this campaign. I’m in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother.""

-------------------------------

Mitt Romney on his family
"""My position has been the same throughout my political career, and it goes back to the days of 1970,” he said. “There was a woman who was running for political office, U.S. Senate. She took a very bold and courageous stand in 1970, and that was in a conservative state. That was that a woman should have the right to make her own choice as to whether or not to have an abortion. Her name was Lenore Romney, she was my mom. Even though she lost, she established a record of courage in that regard."""

Romney left the GOP because of Reagan, here he is fund raising for Planned Parenthood.

You are very well read on Romney’s abortion stance. From the information you gave me, and with very little research, I believe he supports it for nearly any reason.

You last reply reminded me of something else. I think when politicians say “health of the mother” or “in the case of rape”, I think they are trying to walk a line with conservatives, but hiding behind these statements. However, they fully support abortion.

Health of the mother was how they got it going in the 1960s and is a phrase almost never used any more, at the time the public thought that “health” meant “Life of the mother”, today it means abortion on demand “life of the mother” means only to save the life of the mother, whereas “health” means anything and everything, for instance a woman saying that she just doesn’t want to carry the baby for emotional reasons, or to prevent the discomfort of pregnancy.

If you have any questions about Romney and abortion, or want better documentation, just ask, many of us here know him pretty well.
