>> Maybe the station changes are affecting the ratings. <<
Certainly the case in the Wash DC metro market, where Hannity’s new station (AM 1260) has a very poor signal.
(Don’t know about the other markets, however.)
That list isn’t scientific. And as long as Hannity will keynote Talkers Magazine annually events he will stay right there at 13 millionon Talkers list no matter what the real numbers will be.

I don't think he can get away with that with the time slot he has now.

I am particularly sick of Hannity’s ‘shoot outs.’
I see, the numbers are fake, secretly Savage is ahead of them all?
As I posted on another thread, WABC is down half-a-point in the latest Nielsen People Meter (PPM) ratings in New York, while WOR (despite the “drag” of Hannity’s show) is up three-tenths of a point. In a huge market like NYC, that is a shift. Give it a few more months, and WOR will beat WABC head-to-head for the first time in 20+ years, and Hannity will benefit from his lead-in (Rush).
I’ve always said that Hannity is the least-talented broadcaster (among the major conservative hosts), but Savage drives me crazy. For every moment when he’s nailing a critical point, there are 10 more when he’s off on a pointless rant, or treating us to another story about his favorite restaurant or his dog Teddy.
One reason that Savage is suddenly doing so “well” is because his show is now carried on major stations with strong signals. Meanwhile, Hannity has been exiled to second-rate stations in many markets, like DC and Chicago. That will drive down your audience totals in a hurry.
Same here - on all that you said.
I agree completely.
Hannity is right wing? Bwaaahaaaa...he’s a nonthinking lightweight.
I really like the Bauer and Rose show that is on the Sirius “Patriot” channel. but they are only on once a week, in the middle of the day, on Sunday!
So I only hear them for about 20 minutes at a time.
His website says 660 a.m KSKY 2-5 p.m.
Hannity’s radio show is becoming harder and harder to tolerate. Half of his air time is taken up by liberals and his segment with the apologist Jamie Dupree (sp) is like listening to jay carney. It seems any time he has a conservative on, he has to also have a whacked out frothing liberal.
I don't like Hannity and have other choices (including Savage). I like Savage even less and in fact much less. He' basically a left wing nut acting as some sort of conservative.
Thanks!
I’m not defending Savage. Rarely listen to him. Just pointing out there is a reason Hannity
is getting his teeth kicked in in some major markets.
I offered my opinion why, but who knows the reason Hannity is getting
kicked in the teeth.
It's a major factor. In D-FW, WBAP is far and away the leading AM station...and has been for decades. KSKY is a one-time Christian station, trying to rebuild itself as a talk outlet.
On WBAP, Limbaugh was Hannity's lead-in. Now, Limbaugh is Savage's lead-in. And Dennis Prager is now Hannity's lead-in. Big difference.
What drove the move was that Cumulus syndicates Michael Savage and they wanted a bigger audience for him on their stations -- of which WBAP is one. As the article notes though, the move has already cost the Cumulus stations some audience -- while the stations acquiring Hannity have gained audience.
And the amount of faith that WBAP has in Savage's performance is exemplified by their pre-emption of the third hour of Savage for a local host -- Chris Krok -- who does one hour 4-to-5, takes three hours off for Mark Levin 5-8, then returns for his regular show at 8 pm.
Personally, I can't abide Savage's act (it must be an acquired taste) -- so I move the tuning knob to KSKY at 2 PM, then come back for Levin at 5 PM. As time goes by, WBAP will lose more audience...and more audience will find Hannity on KSKY.
Cumulus is going to regret their not leaving well enough alone.
I know it didn’t come out that way but I was agreeing with you.
KSKY, 660 AM
I have the same problem with Bauer and Rose, that it’s difficult to listen to on Sunday.
