MSNBC HOST’S RADICAL IDEA

MSNBC HOST’S RADICAL IDEA: ‘EVERY NON-INCARCERATED ADULT CITIZEN GETS A MONTHLY CHECK FROM THE GOVERNMENT’

On Tuesday’s edition of MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” co-host Krystal Ball suggested that the United States implement a minimum guaranteed income for every “non-incarcerated adult citizen.” The enormous entitlement program would “eliminate poverty” completely, Ball claimed.

Referencing protests occurring across the globe, the MSNBC host made her pitch for a “monthly minimum income” or a “mincome.” The free government money would not only solve poverty, but it would not create deincentives to work, she claimed.

“The basic concept is simple,” she said. “Every non-incarcerated adult citizen gets a monthly check from the government. Other safety net programs are jettisoned to pay for the mincome, and poverty is eliminated.” “Now I know what you’re thinking: ‘This is some crazy left-wing utopian idea that only Marxists like Krystal Ball and Pope Francis could possibly support,’” Ball continued. She then argued that the idea “has found support on the right,” citing Reason’s Matthew Freeney who suggested giving the poor “cash.”

Ball went on to cite a study about a Canadian town in the 1970s that reportedly implemented a minimum income and “not only was poverty eliminated, but the disincentives to work has a minimal effect on productivity.”

“We tend to think of poverty, homelessness, despair as inevitable but mincome makes you realize — in a country as rich as ours — we allow those outcomes as a choice. We could decide to eliminate poverty and it wouldn’t even take a Christmas miracle,” Ball said.

Well, you can’t have that, but if you’re an American citizen you are entitled to:
a heated kidney shaped pool,
a microwave oven — don’t watch the food cook,
a Dyna-Gym — I’ll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
a king-size Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,
a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi, real simulated Indian jewelry,
a Gucci shoetree,
a year’s supply of antibiotics,
a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth, and Bob Dylan’s new unlisted phone number,
a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick, Rosemary’s baby,
a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,
a new Matador,
a new mastodon,
a Maverick,
a Mustang,
a Montego,
a Merc Montclair,
a Mark IV,
a meteor,
a Mercedes,
an MG, or a Malibu,
a Mort Moriarty,
a Maserati,
a Mac truck,
a Mazda,
a new Monza, or a moped,
a Winnebago — Hell, a herd of Winnebago’s we’re giving ‘em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,
a Las Vegas wedding,
a Mexican divorce,
a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,
or a baby’s arm holding an apple?

Let’s think about this.

If we used this to end *all* of the other wealth redistribution programs, and shut down all their various support agencies and structures, this could actually be a net savings to the taxpayer from what we have now.

No more welfare, no Social Security, no disability, no Medicaid or Medicare, just one simple flat - rate payment to every adult citizen.

I am on board with the magic eight ball. I think that the min wage should be equal to the salary of a congressman.

It’s only fair.

I also think that, to be fair, the Cubs should win the next World Series.

Yes, they are stupid. Half of our population places on the LEFT side of the Bell Curve, and we’re surprised that they’re stupid?

I don’t need you to send me a check...I’ll just keep what I’m sending you in taxes, that will be my portion of the check I would otherwise get.

I’m kinda where you are on this. I’m retired early (age 54). Send me the money. Lower medicare to age 50. Someone will pay for it. I don’t care who. I’ll pickup supplemental insurance (or just pay the diff). The young people can have cheaper premiums if us old guys aren’t in the obamacare mix. And they can have all the free birth control they want. I don’t care. BTW.....Will the government do a direct deposit in the Caymans?

I want a free National Ski Pass.

You want it, you got it.
Feel free to ski whenever and where ever you want.
I’d be careful of skiing on the bus though someone
might take advantage of you.

‘EVERY NON-INCARCERATED ADULT CITIZEN GETS A MONTHLY CHECK FROM THE GOVERNMENT’

That’s not a radical idea. Every twelve-year-old who has considered the problem of poverty has had the same brainstorm.

Unfortunately, liberals’ brains never develop beyond the twelve-year-old stage, so we’re constantly being confronted with idiots like Krystall Ball.

It would be interesting to see them “run the numbers” on this. It wouldn’t surprise me to see that this system is cheaper than the current one. (assuming that all other welfare would be eliminated).
It would cut down on the bureaucracy involved in the current system…but seeing as this is the federal gov. it probably wouldn’t

Magic Thinking, it is one of the primary symptoms revealing liberalism’s rot of the soul. Sadly, too many in our dying republic do not recognize the spittle.

Hey, love the idea - everybody gets a check from the government! Glory to all!

Wait, just who will be willing to work to pay the taxes to be able to afford this? Oh well, forget about that, just let the government print money - what a great idea!

More money for all, no work required, I love it!
