The Chicago Tribune has finally reverted away from home-town boosterism of the President and is now telling him to, essentially, admit that his signature achievement is toast:
"[President Barack Obama] crusaded for [obamacare] and has embraced its nickname. But he did not write the law. Congress did. Major changes are necessary he has stipulated by his actions that this law as constituted cannot work and Congress should legislate them for his review."
"Bottom line: Lets delay and rewrite this ill-conceived law. Congress need not start from scratch. Lawmakers can build on what all of us have learned from three years of painful trial and error. Three years of attempting, but failing, to make this clumsy monstrosity work for the American people."
By all means, let us have a, ah, temporary delay in implementation which is Beltway-speak (sorry about that) for let us kill this monstrosity, throw it into an unmarked grave in federally-protected wetlands, pour lye into the hole, cover it up, go home, and never speak of this ever again.

Now that’s a great “counter proposal”!!!! Seriously.
It’s solid. And libs should support it because I searched my ‘feelings’ about it before posting. ;)
So everyone haZ a happy!
Their solution should be to repeal obamacare and order a full-scale removal of all government restraints and controls on health care
Put it back to the free market, like it should be.
Here, let me have a stab at it.
Obamacare
There. I'm done.
Hell, the entire economy is suppose to fail so we can be converted over to neo-feudalism.
you need to read this:
” Now if they (GOP) could effectively trot out victims of Obama care on camera and get them at town hall meetings and in front of congress telling horror stories then they would be fighting back”
Very good idea.
Maybe, given it’s NON-popularity, it’s good for the dems to own Obamacare.
Competition for insurance across state lines.
Cap the legal settlements at 250,000 + medical care expenses.
This would cut medical costs by up to 25%.
What I’d like to know is who, and how many, actually sat down at a computer and wrote this thing?
They call this a “quirk”. Still trying to say it’s not the democrats’ fault.
Admin: I don’t know if it’s legal to post a link to cnbc. If not, please, delete.
obamacare is not about healthcare. It’s about insurance. So was hillarycare. hillarycare promoted “available” healthcare. Everyone knew it was “available” but lots of people couldn’t afford it. So they figured out to call it “affordable” and people jumped on the bandwagon.
Thanks, a few here think making the hospital work for ‘free’ is a great system.
Even when it forces them into bankruptcy I guess.
They dont realize that these mandates are not free just because they dont get a tax bill for it specifically.
Here ya go, a witness that plundering hospitals with mandates to provide free service is not really free as you seem to think it is, and is not ‘working’ even if you insist it is. #28
Believe it or not, you do really pay for it, hospital mandates are not Santa Claus.
You see the nutbag on this thread who keeps pinging ME replying to comments I never made? He did it twice so far.
Hard to tell if its on purpose or if its the voices in his head.
I’d be happy just to repeal obamacare. I don’t feel a great need to come up with something else to replace it.
I'd be happy if a rich relative left me a million $$$ or so, but that's not happening either.
So I have to make other less pleasant arrangements, like working.
So back to the planet earth.
Plundering hospitals is not free, even if your favorite AM radio host tells you it is.
Now instead of that under O-care the mandate gets moved onto the health insurers w pre-existing conditions, still not free. Other cases medicaid.
It must be “voices”
I’m just not into getting rid of the best medical system in the history of the world, whether a GOP plan or an Obama plan.
They both are totally untrustworthy.
So, I’ll continue to work for the repeal of Obamacare. Notice above that the article is about the Chicago Tribune calling for its delay.
Delaying it would be a step in the right direction.
As you can see from the list below, the federal government agencies below listed just for the alphabet letter A are approximately 33. I was going to come up with a total but there are just too many. Indeed, there must be hundreds, if not thousands of them! Bear in mind that 100 years ago almost none of these agencies existed. Give me and two or three freepers one week in a conference room and we could pretty fairly and justly and accurately cut this list down to half, if not one quarter.
So, your right! It is insane to suggest that “The Government” do anything! They don’t do courts well, they don’t do police well, they don’t do the military well. They do create debt well. Liberals LOVE government! They now control it. That is why we are where we are.
The one thing the government, with all of it’s legions of affirmative actors, should do is stay completely away from the health industry forever. Collectively, they don’t have the IQ or worldly experience to empty the trashcans. Let the market dictate as it surely would if left alone! If some regulation is needed, create a panel of doctors, lay person’s and yes, a few lawyers to do so. All of them to be unpaid and with 2 year terms.

That ‘best medical system in the history of the world’ is now past history as Obama-care is now 4 years old although not fully implemented as you know, but its coming. Once all those people get medicaid you can kiss your Dr goodbye
That might have been a great debate for last year when Obama was running on ‘re-elect me because I got Obama-care passed’ but I guess it didnt work because he's still here meaning we are stuck.
Did Ryan+Romney run on 'our current system works great'?? I cant recall.
