(CNN) – The feuding between Republicans Chris Christie and Rand Paul continued Tuesday as the senator from Kentucky cautioned the governor from New Jersey was picking a fight with the wrong guy.
In an interview on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," Paul defended himself against Christie's most recent allegations that the senator was bringing home too much money for his state.
"This is the king of bacon talking about bacon," Paul said about Christie. Both are considered potential 2016 contenders for the Republican presidential nomination.
Earlier in the day, the outspoken governor chastised Kentucky for taking more federal money than New Jersey, saying the Blue Grass state gets back $1.51 on every dollar it sends to Washington, while the Garden State receives 61 cents.

What a disgusting political specimen the governor is. What business is it of his what happens in the US senate? He holds a state office.
Maybe he's jealous of all the attention the media gives John McCain and wants his share of that Maverick action.
Governor Christie should probably stay out of arguments in which a food metaphor can be employed against him.
I don’t think I could ever pull the lever for Christie, a POS RINO. If that is the best the GOP has, then I am going to look for another party.
Paul needs to disavow his Amnesty plan before he does anything else.

NJ is directly affected by Nat'l security since its close neighbor, NYC, is a large target of terrorists.
Makes sense that Christie would speak out against any attempt to lower NSA standards.

Christie definitely went “whole hog” into politics, and looks like he ate it too.
At least Paul didn’t say it was a real porker talking about bacon. But he was probably tempted....
And who was sitting out there lying and creating a melodrama for his own reelection about GOP members on a disaster relief bill that had to be passed in 3 parts because it was so large?
The trouble is that we TAX FIRST and then try to figure out how to SPEND IT LATER.
All these crazy ideas that come up, like bridges to nowhere, are generated to get back money that is already taken indiscriminately.
Christie is doing what Christie needs to do to get back all the money the Federal government takes from his state.
If a state, or county, or city, or town doesn’t get back that money somehow, then it eventually withers.
The answer is to keep the money flowing locally in the first place. It shouldn’t have to make a round trip through Washington DC before it (possibly) comes back.
No...just makes sense to people living close to a target in general.

BTW anyone who's willing to trade that particular essential liberty for security is, as you've heard, deserving of neither.

Probably 1/3 to 1/4 of the victims in the NYC attack were from NJ; a lot of people in northern NJ work in NYC. I’m not defending Christie’s comments, just clarifying why NYC is an issue for NJ.
I don’t believe for a moment that Christie has any national aspirations; he looks like every caricature of a Republican for the past 100 years (fat white guy in a suit). Also, I can’t believe the Repub leadership actually thinks any Dems will cross the aisle to vote for him; they do that in NJ to save their homes from the tax-man (and that is only home-owning Dems) while they rage against his policies that have shrunk municipal payrolls.
I wouldn’t live in the hell hole known as Jersey......and even if I did, I would never pull the lever for a guy who wants to take my guns.
Never vote for ANY politician who will not trust you with guns.
I guess he’s popular here because people think the right to own a home is more important.
