CNS News ^ | May 10, 2013 | Elizabeth Harrington

(CNSNews.com) The feral government spent more than $2 billion to provide Puerto Rico in food stamps in 2012, up to 25% of it is untraceable because it is distributed in cash and there is "no way to verify that funds are being spent on food" according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The funds are used to provide more than one-third of the population of Puerto Rico with food stamps

Just something to remember when Amnesty Liberal GOP claim "Illegal Alien Amnesty will bring in the Hispanic vote". Puerto Ricans are US citizens... so Illegal Alien Amnesty does not affect them. Government assistance.... well....different story.

This illustrates what America must do, and soon.

We need to return jobs to AMERICA.

We need to tax imports, and return American jobs. What we are doing now, is simply to sell-out to China.

China is meanwhile, now leading America in exports.

Bring back US jobs, and tax imports.

“I’ve got an idea. Lets make them a state. That way we can provide more.....(s)”

Well, heck . . . let’s just make every backward, corrupt, Third World collection of ne’er-do-wells a “state” and get it over with.

OTOH, why not take our 50 states, and have them apply to become states of the nation of Puerto Rico. They can send their tax money to us to squander. Heck, we wouldn’t even have to learn Spanish.

One third get food stamps and more get taxpayer paid Social Security Disability or SSI, probably one half. The PR is a very costly possession. They can’t vote in federal elections but already get all the freebies.

What is the cost of living in Puerto Rico? It seems to me, that since 1/3 of the people are on food stamps, that the cost of living must be quite a bit lower there than here, and therefore, one isn’t necessarily living in poverty to reach the income level to receive the benefits.

It's getting crazy enough to the point that, you can't discuss a serious economic problem without someone parachuting in and whining about tariffs, and how they are not high enough.

Is anyone listening? These people want to take more money out of your wallets in the name of "prosperity."
