We think that starting threads on passing trivial thoughts is a waste of bandwidth.

I am not Libertarian, but I think this is just stupid. Why would the Boy Scouts even put kids in this position. Sure not every gay person is going to molest kids, but even if one does it is not feasible to have this. As a Catholic, I totally am against this and gay marriage for that matter. My Facebook account makes me sick today. All the stupid red equal signs are giving me a headache. What on Earth is happening to our country?????

I consider myself a “natural law” libertarian.

Having “gay” men take teen boys camping in the woods is the same thing as sending horny guys to take pubescent girl scouts camping in the woods.

As a previous poster said, “What could go wrong”?

Only a Leftist could believe this is a good thing.

I’m not necessarily a libertarian but as someone who
was molested by a scout master I would have to say
NO!

The libertarian point of view is that private organizations should be free to do any thing they want. Beside the parents of the Scouts it’s nobody’s business how they pick their leaders.

Let the gays form their own Boy Scout troops, and leave our sons alone.

I’m not a libertarian, but I don’t think horny old men and young boys mix well.

I am sure that Libertardians see nothing wrong with pedophiles taking kids to the woods overnight.

Why don’t they start their own scouting organization?

Because they want to recruit YOUR kids.

Where do you libertarians stand on gays as boy scout masters?

Not to worry. Libertarians want, above anything, no government intervention in individuals lives.

Boy Scouts must never be forced into any social control through coercion or influence of any kind. Government initiation of force against peaceful citizens is an anathema to libertarians.

That is the small "l" opinion since I have not traveled in those circles in a number of years, but LP.org has the current platform with all applicable planks.

As a private organization, they are free to choose who is a member. However, on the other hand, private, free citizens are also free to express their opposition to this by walking out. I have a feeling the latter will far outweigh the former.

The Boy Scouts should not allow ‘’sexuals’’ of any kind.

would anyone let their daughters stay overnight in a tent with a grown heterosexual man?

No,

well then, why would I let my boys stay in a tent overnight with a gay man?
