Even if she was a drugged out, crazy loony. If the police did do this, put her out on the street in a dangerous area where they knew she would be harmed, then they should be made to pay.

My first inclination would be to take all of them responsible and strip them down save for a bed sheet and pointy pillow case and loose them in the same area around midnight.

Take one stripper with California, golden-girl looks. Lock her up for acting crazy.

Thanks to the liberals, we turned our back to insane people, by declaring them "okay" and closing the facilities. Thus we have mentally ill people killing with stolen guns, a high percentage of the homeless, and then, this hapless, woman.

Maybe if true statesmanship, honesty, and integrity return to our government we will apply the usual common sense methods and get a handle on the issue of mental illness.

AFAIK she was not transported to a dangerous neighborhood and dropped off there, she was simply released at the location where she was in custody. IOW, treated like anybody else.

The logic of the lawsuit is that since she was white and female, she should have been transported to a “safer neighborhood” before release. IOW, treated differently and afforded greater consideration than if she had happened to be black and/or male.

Wouldn’t that have been racial discrimination? Isn’t the assumption that she couldn’t be safe in that area a type of “locale profiling,” and/or discrimination against the inhabitants?

Her parents called the police six times to tell them she had a mental issue and she was having that issue at the time. Those police officers should be jailed.

dressed only in short shorts and a bikini top.

But I thought how a woman is dressed has nothing at all to do with whether she becomes a target of rapists.

Let us assume the young woman in question had chosen to voluntarily put herself in exactly the same situation: alone, at night and skimpily dressed in a (euphemism alert) “bad neighborhood.”

If exactly the same thing were to happen to her (rape and attempted murder), anyone who suggested she might bear some partial responsibility for what happened would be accused of mysogyny and “blaming the victim.”

This is not the kind of crime that CNNABCCBS likes. It doesn’t fit their agenda that all Whites are evil racists.

If she was using meth or anything similar then I have no sympathy with her at all. She did not deserve to be awarded all that money. At the same time the authorities and police deserve to lose their jobs and a lot of money.

This is the police force you get in progressive cities. The elected officials are corrupt and often the police force is as well. Think Chicago, think New Orleans. Think politically correct quota hiring. I’ve seen it in my own city.

Having said that, I have a lot of experience dealing with mentally disturbed people. If I ‘pink slip’ somebody and force them to go to the hospital for an evaluation, they can be out in several hours if they know what to say to the doctor. Because some hospitals refuse to restrain people with mental problems, they can jump up, run out of the hospital, steal a car and go kill folks. I’ve seen that happen.

And, if we arrest somebody and take them to the hospital for treatment, guess who pays for it? The taxpayer. Not the individual. Many of our frequent flyers know this. When they get arrested they complain of chest pain, had a head injury, you name it. They demand to go to the hospital. We have to take them. They know that it will cost the city thousands of dollars for scans, x-rays, etc.

So, what does the city do? Instead of keeping them in jail and paying for a big hospital bill, they release them and give them a summons to show up for court.

Naturally they don’t show up for court, a warrant is issued for their arrest and the game starts all over again.

Gotta love it.

I wonder how the New York Times would have covered this story if a large group of white men had raped and murdered a black girl... I suspect it would be treated differently.

Sucking up to black criminals is one of the ways the white liberal elite power structure is maintained.

Eff you New York Times. And Washington Post.
