Vice President Joe Biden “guaranteed” that President Barack Obama will pass sweeping gun control legislation by the end of January, according to Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino.
“He said, ‘Tommy, I guarantee you, we’ll get it done by the end of January,’” Menino reportedly said at City Hall on Thursday. “They’re going to get it done.”
Menino, a leading gun control advocate, has been recovering from a myriad of health issues over the last two months, but said Biden has called him a number of times while he was in the hospital. One of the calls came after the Newtown, Conn. school shooting and concerned gun control, the Boston Herald reports.
“I understand the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms. But I don’t understand how young kids should be able to get guns,” Menino said, adding that Obama has “no excuse not to pass strong legislation.”

NOTHING as contentious as gun control gets through the congress in two weeks, not now, not ever. I could take the time to explain the entire committee process and how the leadership can prevent any bill from not making it to the floor simply by not putting it on the calendar, and how the committee that would draft such a bill is stacked with a majority of pro-gun Republican's. But why bother? Some would rather run for the bomb shelter and declare the battle lost before even one shot is fired than do something constructive like keep the pressure of their Representatives and monitor the progress of any bill introduced in the House and Senate.

I hate to tell Joe that Barry does not have the authority to pass any kind of legislation. Neither branch of Congress is in the mood for gun control as they all know the mood of the country is not for gun control.
Diane Feinstein has been submitting gun control bills for years. She will submit her new one and it will go into committee and die there. I doubt there are even enough Dems willing to vote for it in the Senate. Harry Reid would be jeopardizing his next election by bringing it to the floor for a vote. Even if it passed the House would kill it.
100 million Americans already have guns, high capcity mags and loads of ammo. The horse is already out of the barn and its not going back in.
Still in all we should contact our senators and reps and let them know they better not even think about voting for any of this stuff.
We should force that issue on the Democrats and their runningdog lackeys. Tell us why these two pukes were talking about guns and Newtown before the shooting.

Illinois Senate was supposed to vote on gun grabbing and homosexual marriage but they adjourned without doing anything. Hope they stay adjourned indefinitely.

Most of the dead in mass shootings comes from the first 10 rounds in a magazine. When the last 10 rounds are fired people are not standing around trying to find out where the noise is coming from.
