“Snake Pit” with Olivia de Haviland, comes to mind. A great, but disturbing movie. Alot of those old movies revolved around characters in the insane asylum.

You’re totally and absolute correct about what deadly weapons are. I served in the Army. I was special ops. I witnessed a violent crime one day. intervened and rescued a woman from her husband trying to kill her. I subdued the guy using military techniques. The guy got an attorney, need I say more, and sued me for causing physical damage to the moron. The attorney claimed I was a ‘lethal weapon’ and the idiots in the jury convicted me of using excessive force/. I didn’t do any jail time for saving his wife’s life but it cost me a ton of money. From that day on, I told myself, I will not get involved in any type of situation, no matter what.
The “Baby Jane” one? Betty played a loon in that one, but she wasn’t in the nut house. Another great movie.

First report I’ve seen indicating this kid was on psych meds. Fanapt is used to treat schizophrenia.

This is a good find. Fanapt causes weight gain. There is a pic of Adam Lanza circulating around that shows a much heavier individual than his school pictures. This would explain the discrepancy in his weight.

If liberals had a permmissive enviornment for deeming people mentally ill and institutionalizing them, it would be another tool they could use like the Soviets or Chi-coms.

I don’t know much about psych meds; the Wiki page for it says it just got FDA approval in 2009, so it’s pretty new.

The government has centralized power over life and death now with deathcare. Liberals have said they will kill people based on an economic formula deeming the value of their lives. Marxism has no sense of justice, no limits on it’s power and no ethics and morals. Everything is political and the means justifies the ends.
The communists are known for putting political refusniks in “mental institutions” where they are systematically brainwashed and often murdered. The Soviets, were famous for it. Communists all agree in social and economic policy because they will torture and kill you if you disagee with them.
Our liberals would hesitate to name political incorrectness violent and dangerous; mental illness. They have already tried to ban Christians from speaking out on sodomy saying that the speech/ideas that the behavior and lifestyle is not the best for people, are “violent.” They have done it with many issues and they reject religious freedom and free speech.
If liberals had the power, they would re-create the Soviet Union. Soviet Marxism is the social ideology and basis of their Utopia. The CEO of GE has come out and said he wants to replace our system of government with a communist one like the Chi-coms. He said it’s more efficient. Alot of America’s “liberals” in power are on that bandwagon. They would murder you just as soon as look at you. Humans are like roaches infesting their enviornment. They are disgusted by human life.

Geez, the side effects are also symptoms associated with schizophrenia, which begs the questions; why give a medication whose side effects mimic the diseases or how do they know those are side effects of the medication and not symptoms of worsening schizophrenia and the medication is ineffective?
Pharmaceutical Psychiatry is just high tech chemical shamanism.
Schizophrenia tends to manifest itself around age 18-20 and it can often come on quite suddenly. There was a case locally where a 17 year old cut up his grandfather with an axe, just a couple weeks after his parents started to notice changes in his behavior.

Burning oneself sounds like a variation on ‘cutting’, which people do to lessen psychic pain.

The young man was burning himself (if true. not too sure I believe of all these second hand stories about how mentally ill the son was since many speaking out hardly even knew him personally). He qualified for a full evaluation because he was harming himself. If you really want if you are desperate and lie and say threatened to kill himself so they can get some treatment.
And THAT is a crying shame!
The government condones removing the father, and with it, any semblence of boundaries and structure--equating it all as "abuse." The mom is free to treat Junior like the little "man of the house" which in itself is abusive. Mom gives the child what I call A.S.S. (adult spousal status) allowing him to call the shots in the home. She assassinates dad's character in front of Junior, creating massive loyalty conflicts ("if you love mommy you'll hate your dad"). When Junior, who is now confused, extremely angry and hateful, gets physically too strong to handle, she puts him on mind bending meds.
When dad finally gives up in sheer hopelessness, having spent tens of thousands in legal fees just to preserve his basic parental rights, and decides to move on, mom gets further enraged:

For every story of woe you can give me for a man I can give you two for a woman.
Most "single moms" don't have the "dad gene" aka the ability to put their boot up their kids backside. They'd rather be lenient and molly coddle them; especially if it means going against dad's wishes.
Not in this case .
The guy took off and got remarried within just over a year .
She was left alone to deal with the messy kid and even the other son ran off .
That is what happens in situations with a mentally ill kid who is dangerous and very hostile .
Everyone gets burned out and flee once they see a chance .
Dad had not seen the kid in over a year ! He ran which is normal with
Schizoid child .
They are never ending drain .
My on laws / relative has one but she is very
Stable and takes her meds because her Dad and mom
Are very strict and loving .
We watch her so they can vacation every few months .
You don’t think this lady needed a vacation from this kid but
There was no one to watch him !

I just happened to watch an old “Criminal Minds” episode over the weekend. It was from 2011, but was eerily similar to this recent shooting, with the bad guy (”unsub”) not feeling pain. also the outcast, loner, etc. I was thinking “if a dumb TV show can profile these guys, too bad we can’t do it in real life and get them help”:
