Hamas Headquarters Leveled, 'Gaza Power Grid Targeted'

The IDF's pounding of Hamas' infrastructure in Gaza entered its fourth day Saturday, and is deemed as highly successful until this point.

The Hamas government headquarters, which housed Gaza "prime minister" Ismail Haniyeh's offices, were leveled to the ground. In addition, "security compounds, tunnels and electricity transformers" were hit, according to Al Jazeera. "Missiles also knocked out five electricity transformers, plunging more than 400,000 people into darkness, according to the Gaza electricity distribution company," the news network reported.

The government has approved the call-up of 75,000 reservists and massed troops, tanks and armored vehicles along the border with Gaza, signaling a ground invasion could be imminent.

The IDF's attacks from air and sea have been very accurate, and attempts to minimize civilian deaths have also been relatively successful, although with Hamas, one never knows when a family may be purposely placed in harm's way to create a bloodbath that can be blamed on Israel....

I love Israel, too! Thank you for saying it so succinctly and straight up. I love Israel! The people, the land, the nation! I love Israel!

The IDF could take out our grid with a couple of hungry squirrels.

Probably the only semi-”acceptable” way to make the populace suffer too (without making them “collateral damage” via dead bodies). Until the population at large sufferes enough, they will allow rockets to be fired at will. On the flip side, they already hate Israel enough that instead of trying to negotiate a way to stop suffering, they will chew on the “cyanide pills” and back the rocket goons.

Why would Israel "target" the Gaza power grid? I thought that Israel supplied them with electricity. They should just need to shut off the power and water.

In case some liberal Israeli moron, in the future, decides to turn it back on "for the children".

The problem that the Israelis are having with the terrorists in Gaza is the same problem that the US is having with them. "Civilization." The belief that if we use the amount of force needed to wipe them out "we would be no better than the terrorists." I wonder why people never think this way when they call an exterminator in to rid a house of insects, mice, or even rats... Or for that matter, when smallpox was exterminated from the population, outside of biowarefare labs.

Sorry, but when terrorists begin to purposely target innocent civilians, they've removed themselves from "civilization," and are no longer privy to the rights or protection of the civilized. What's even worse, we (and the Israeli's) have hamstrung our military by putting what I consider criminal (on the part of politicians) rules of engagement on our military, to the point of telling them they're not allowed to shoot back while under fire! And then prosecuting (persecuting being a better word) our military?

The simple fact is that once Israel stopped brutally pursuing and killing the terrorists, the terrorists saw this as weakness and stepped up their attacks. And during that time, the world decided that it liked Jews a lot better when they were the innocent victims with bodies stacked up like cord wood than people who were willing to defend themselves.

That is the key to understanding barbarians.

Also, today's "progressives" are just a juvenile form of barbarian that are still maturing, but they know to step up their attacks in the face of our moral/cultural/political weakness.

“The IDF could take out our grid with a couple of hungry squirrels.”

I haven’t heard from Egypt or Hamas yet. Do we train squirrels, too? Or just sharks, wild boars, and snakes? Wait ‘til we unleash the killer chickens.

In follow up on our war-induced food glut, this morning my wife loaded up a shopping cart with most of our stash, walked down the hill with it, brought the goodies to the “Pina Bachama,” a comfort station for soldiers, and donated it. The troops were very happy to receive it and thanked her. We still have a lot, but are no longer overwhelmed, and we’ve done something for the boys and girls in green.

My mother-in-law, widow to the aforementioned, is living with us, and has just let me know that she has been up with heartburn all night because she can’t stomach this kind of food. So now it’s up to the three of us, wife, ten-year-old son and self, to finish this mountain. I’m trying to lose weight. At least we won’t have to shop for a while.

So let your friends and neighbors know you have a bunch of excess food. If they want some, they should bring their own containers. My neighbor does marketing for some food companies, so he's frequently giving us his excess samples.

The Israelis should get a bunch of these helicopter UAVs with stabilized sniper rifle turret.

Keep Hamas leadership looking over their shoulders.

Meanwhile, also destroy cell towers. Leave the Palis without power and without communication. Make the lives of people miserable for week after week.

I don’t see why it has to be the President. Only Congress can declare war per the Constitution. Shouldn’t the reverse be true also?

That is, shouldn’t Congress be the one to declare support? Remember that the Congress declared that there should be a regime change when Saddam was still in charge in Iraq? IIRC, that was during Clinton’s era.

Course it took Republican George W Bush to get er done.

That was a wonderful thing to donate the food to. You COULD give them most or all the rest, if you REALLY fear it going to, er, waist.

I’m going to take it back about the Baptist supper... I was at one this evening that really was grand, if not that lush. It was a traditional American style turkey dinner. First one I’ve had at a church that wasn’t on paper plates, actually. It was at this medium size Baptist church in a hick town of Maryland, where I, er, sojourneth.

But in general it’s very hard to beat that old Yiddishe cooking.
