Thanks for the explanation. I get it now.

I had no idea Sugarland, TX was named after a sugar company. One of my favorite movies is “The Sugarland Express.” It has nothing to do with sugar but takes place in the area.

The union consists of about 5,000 members. nearly 19,000 are out of work. I suspect another few thousand will be out of work as well.

If you’ve ever lived in a town with one or two large factories that close, you’ve seen the job loss spread to restaurants, gas stations, hardware stores, etc.

So true. Especially smaller towns, where many businesses exist solely on
the customer base generated by employers...

No compassion for these people losing their jobs, but all kinds of outrage
when someones freebies are potentially on the line.

Oh, those ABC sock puppets know how much of a defeat this is for their side. They’re putting on the brave face like ten year old boys would. If it didn’t bother them, they would have just reported the story. The laughing is just laughing past the graveyard.
“See! When the owners threaten to shut down the business because of outrageous union demands, and then do it, it’s no big deal!”
Childish. That’s why we can beat them. They’re really just scared little boys trying to look tough. Snuffleupagus in an elevator with a real man? In ten seconds he’s on his knees begging you not to hit him.

My husband has to deal with theft by union employees and an out-of-control shop steward who cannot be fired. 20 years ago, the union workers were fine. Not perfect, but decent human beings who did their jobs uncomplainingly.

How times change.

Someone with facebook could check the salaries for American Broadcasting Company there. That might be interesting.

Well, back when I was a kid, they were delicious, but as I aged they lost their appeal...except for the mystical frozen Twinkie, which takes like ice cream wrapped in cake.

I didn’t eat those very often, but when I did they were damn tasty!

Alas, they are to be no more, instead of savor Twinkies, I will savor the flavor for unemployed union dopes. MMMMM!

I’ve never watched them so I don’t know their sponsors but they should be boycotted. Bad business decision to advertise where they mock people losing their jobs. They may be next with layoffs because the remaining citizens with jobs can’t afford their over priced product to keep their company afloat. I have no sympathy for advertisers who support the liberal media! I don’t even know who they are - I don’t watch/listen/support propaganda.

Leftists are happy when businesses fold. In the mind of a true marxist, all businesses should be in the hands of the collectivity - the government.

The corporate hq is in north Texas. But where will most of the job losses be felt?

I’m laughing too, at the union thugs who will be jobless by their own choice. Except I’ll be among those whose money they are getting “redistributed” to them in the form of welfare, section 8, food stamp EBTs, Obamaphones...

Maybe I shouldn’t be laughing!

How smug will the media types be when their security guards abandon them?

They are just happy because they shut down “BIG TWINKIE”. They couldn’t shut down “BIG OIL” “BIG COAL” “BIG (enter name of latest boogeyman here)”... so they rejoice at the ‘crumbs’ they did obliterate.

The Baker’s Union is already spinning this as a “Bain style” event. So, it’s just another crisis to take advantage of.

In a way, the death of Hostess is symbolic of the dying away of America. Another traditional American icon dies and Obama couldn’t be happier.

He’ll control the sugar and chocolate supplies soon enough anyway...

Cannibalism! It’s CANNIBALISM! ! !

Liberal twinkies eating Hostess Twinkies in front of the cameras - that is cannibalism.

Yes, the Imperial crown-logo is actually also part of the city seal and logo.
