And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMom’s Kick Ass Enchilada’s.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Benny’s, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Faye’s, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenke’s Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as “home base”. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixty’s, highs in the mid-eighty’s.
I even told them I’d only test-fire it into the ceiling, not the floor, when we were airborne.

It was such a pleasure meeting all of you great folks, and I am so glad you had such a grand time. We do have alot of fun together, and I sure hope you ALL can make it to Texas again next year! Just really bummed I could not make the shoot this year. Missed seeing EVERYONE!
penelopesire, I will definitely be in touch soon so we can go have margaritas! Confirmed that the kiddos DID know each other in high school, and other fun info, so we gotta chat, LOL!
And, a trip with mylife to the range is definitely in order.

Another option might be to rent a big house and one with a few moderate priced cabins too. I saw one when I was looking for a place for another get together. It had a big house and some smaller casitas around it. I think the house was about 500.00 or 600.00 a night, but could sleep 12 to 14 people and with blow up beds it could sleep more. It had something like 4 or 5 bathrooms. The casitas slept 4 to 6 and ran around 150.00 or 200.00 a night. I believe it was on the blanco river. I will see if I can find a link and send it to you tomorrow. What gun range are we trying to get close to or do we know yet?

Oh good!! Here is where I get to finally find out that my kid was not the angel I thought he was....lol. I love insider scoops!! Especially after the fact stuff when he is through college and gainfully employed....lol!!
