Ironic. Liberals have long claimed low IQ perpetrators, breakers of unpopular laws/rules (e.g., harsh actions for illegal aliens, etc.) or the ‘common man’ should somehow be exempt or deserve special consideration in review of their crimes or their race. I might add that this special consideration never seems to extend itself to conservatives or ‘rich’ people.
So what’s happening now is that a man who cannot be connected to any of the undeserving categories (rich, conservative, etc.) is claiming mental disability - amnesia.

A person can be amnestic for all the events of a crime and still be able to participate in his defense. Amnesia does not render an individual incompetent to stand trial. I will say that no one can claim without a doubt that James Holmes is the killer based on available public evidence.
There may be forensic evidence on him but he could be a drugged up stooge found in his car.
