The response from one NAACP leader after Mitt Romney’s speech before the organization on Wednesday? He favors white people.
“I believe his vested interests are in white Americans,” Charlette Stoker Manning, the chairwoman of Women in NAACP, told the website BuzzFeed following the Republican candidate’s Wednesday speech in Houston.
“You cannot possibly talk about jobs for black people at the level he’s coming from. He’s talking about entrepreneurship, savings accounts — black people can barely find a way to get back and forth from work,” Manning said.
Romney was booed at several points throughout his speech — the loudest being when Romney spoke of his desire to see “Obamacare” repealed. The Republican also received applause at times throughout the speech, notably for saying he’d protect traditional marriage.
In his speech, he argued that a Romney administration would better serve African-American voters.
“If you want a president who will make things better in the African-American community, you are looking at him,” Romney said.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the NAACP thanked Romney for addressing the convention but stressed they disagree with his policies.
“While we are glad that Governor Romney recognized the power of the black electorate, he laid out an agenda that was antithetical to many of our interests,” said NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous.

There are many black people in this country that do have those characteristics, but they are shunned by the media, and ridiculed as not “keepin’ it real”. But they are out there.
Correct. I was speaking to a young man recently about Dr. Thomas Sowell's book "Black Rednecks and White Liberals" and although he knew of DuBois, he had never heard of Tom Sowell.
Instead of all of the accolades that are heaped towards Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, it should have gone to brilliant men, like Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver, these men should be the standard bearers for blacks in this country.

The racial intimidation climate is such that professors pass blacks to avoid being targeted for retaliation. Because of the lowered standards, there is no doubt that there is a big difference between a college degree on a black person’s resume and that on a white man’s resume. If they don’t want to have this judged so, they should fight to be treated as equals rather than as less-evolved pets.

It’s hard to even think of words that actually describe how they were. All the words I am thinking of are extremely negative, but they fail to fully encompass the behavior I saw there.

I agree, but it's not because they are black. Here is my theory.
The blacks exposure to liberalism has caused brain damage, just it does to anyone if they are exposed in formative stages of life. Liberalism works to destroy and corrupt parts of the language center of the brain. This results in greatly impaired reasoning capability. This damage is permanent in most cases. I am not being sarcastic. The liberal blacks as well as all liberal believers are actually the victims of a systematic and targeted lowering of their intellectual abilities. The perpetrators of this damage (the leftist deceivers) in most cases have no idea of the mechanism of their craft. They just know that it produces the results that they desire.
I have simple anecdotal proof of this if anyone is interested.

You know, when I hear gentlemen such as Walter Williams speak, what I hear is completely different than what I heard from the black people I lived around in New Orleans.

It's funny you should mention Booker Taliaferro Washington. During that same conversation, the young man admitted that he hadn't read "Up From Slavery." I can't fathom how anyone could read Mr. Washington's inspiring story and not grasp the conservative message. I wonder what percentage of blacks in America have actually read Mr. Washington's autobiography, or for that matter, Frederick Douglas' "Narrative." Those two gentlemen would have nothing but contempt for the current crop of grievance-mongers.
Not even getting into his journey to receive an education, by my reckoning (I did the math, but others here may correct me), BTW started the Tuskegee Institute with virtually nothing (even less, when you consider the debt), and in a span of 20 years, had built a renowned center of learning worth $1 Billion in today's dollars. Not bad for a guy who started out lacking even a last name.
That's the kind of drive and sense of self-determination that's sadly lacking the black community, IMUO (in my unauthorized opinion). Of course, by DuBois' earlier standards (he somewhat relented, later on) and those of most of today's black "leadership," Booker was a sell-out to Whitey.

They don`t. The expectation nowadays is the education standard must descend to their level, not the other way around. Many school districts don`t even have valedictorian honors at commencement ceremonies in order to spare the tender feelings and egos of the non-achievers.
The black sub-culture of quashing anyone`s efforts in school lest they “sound white” is a powerful factor in self-limitation as well. But then... what`s it all worth anyway, when the government provides food, housing, medical care and a comfortable lifestyle?
I insured many an immigrant in Atlanta. And by that, I mean commercially. I had quite a book of business not because I spoke spanish (I didn’t), but because I taught them how to work their books to not get hit with heavy audits and most agents didn’t have the patience for that. Basically most started out as laborers on construction crews until one (the one who learned english the fastest and had the most business sense) would eventually break out to start their own crew and bidding on jobs. Then they needed insurance for liability and workers comp. That’s when I dealt with the wife of the owner and that’s who I usually taught how to maintain the books and how to put the percentage of the job into a savings account for the audit of premium. Most had been here four or five years maybe and I became friends with quite a few. I envied most of their houses! Tell me people ‘can’t’ start a business! They came here sleeping on someone’s sofa until they earned enough for a place, then learned enough to do it on their own. I have no sympathy.

Romney did very well at the NAACP yesterday. He is realistic in believe he will lose the majority of the Black vote. However, he exposed the unreasonable leadership of NAACP for the entire country to view. In addition he doesn’t need the majority of the Black vote, he just needs a larger percentage than McCain got(4%). At the same time it is likely there will be a lower turnout from this “voting block”.
I think that Ms. Manning should look on the bright-side. Romney isn’t going to La Raza at all, clearly indicating that he favors Blacks.

Just once, I wish Mitt would rent a pair and preface his speech to the NAACP thusly: “In 2008 98% of you voted for Obama. Since the same percentage is expected to cast similar ballots in 2012, my remarks will be directed to the 2% of the African-American community that is willing to base their vote on something other than race.”
Could you imagine the reaction if Romney had prefaced a comment with, “I realize Black people can barely find a way to get back and forth to work...”

The Asians are new immigrants, who have gotten, and who put high value on education in the first place...except they don't speak English. They come equipped with an incredible work ethic, plus a recognition that they can cash in on the American dream.
This is all learned behavior, usually coming out from under repressive authoritarian conditions, fraught with poverty and with a burning desire to make a better life for themselves.

It is a widespread stereotype to find these folks with a very smug, racist, self-important attitudes...a chip on their shoulder. Crime statistics show them with high incarceration rates for gang activity, drug activity and violent crime.

Never said it was always true, I was specifically responding to “Orientals” seeming to more often be successful.
I even addressed how those who do NOT come with money still succeed.
I have known many “Oriental” families, what I related IS how they got wealthy.
Some of the middle-eastern immigrants do the same thing.
Which is why they can so often take over entire shopping centers, hotels, etc.
