NAACP leader accuses Romney of favoring white people after speech

The response from one NAACP leader after Mitt Romney’s speech before the organization on Wednesday? He favors white people.

“I believe his vested interests are in white Americans,” Charlette Stoker Manning, the chairwoman of Women in NAACP, told the website BuzzFeed following the Republican candidate’s Wednesday speech in Houston.

“You cannot possibly talk about jobs for black people at the level he’s coming from. He’s talking about entrepreneurship, savings accounts — black people can barely find a way to get back and forth from work,” Manning said.

Romney was booed at several points throughout his speech — the loudest being when Romney spoke of his desire to see “Obamacare” repealed. The Republican also received applause at times throughout the speech, notably for saying he’d protect traditional marriage.

In his speech, he argued that a Romney administration would better serve African-American voters.

“If you want a president who will make things better in the African-American community, you are looking at him,” Romney said.

In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the NAACP thanked Romney for addressing the convention but stressed they disagree with his policies.

“While we are glad that Governor Romney recognized the power of the black electorate, he laid out an agenda that was antithetical to many of our interests,” said NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous.

So let's re-elect the guy who's destroying jobs for blacks at a record-setting pace...

How is it that Asians, who don’t even speak English, can come to this country and start successful businesses?

The NAACP is the most racist organization out there. They despise the sight of white people. So what is that idiot saying, that black people can’t find ways to and from work? I love it how that moron makes such a blanket statement like that. So I’m assuming by her logic all blacks sit at home doing what, playing XBOX? If a white person had just said the idiocy that this woman just said they would be accused of being the racists. The NAACP only supports Obama because they are hoping they will get reparations from him if they do

Because they know how to cook and count?

it was a given that one or a few from the NAACP would make such a ludicrous claim/assertion. Simply making excuses for their failures to admit that they vote largely based upon color of skin and ideology despite the decrepit nature and infestation that hampers a large part of the black community(s) today. As such, the NAACP has replaced the 'white' slave/plantation master/owner and now looks to keep the vast majority of blacks mired on the plantation via constant notions of social justice, calls of racism, and government dependency. They should be proud of themselves.... =.=

There ya’ go, Black America. Manning has set your limitations for you.

There is something lacking in the black culture, something that is also lacking in the whites of Appalachia, which discourages setting up a business. They hitched their wagon to the Great Society and eschewed the path laid down by Booker Washington a hundred years ago. They chose to follow the path of DuBois, which is socialism.

Maybe he would get a better reception if he had sang “Mammy”!

The perfect analogy is an circus elephant...they are tied to a stump as a baby, so they can’t escape......they are conditioned to believe that they cannot escape, even once they grow up and can easily break away from the stump.

Blacks have no leadership.

The vast majority of blacks are incapable of independent thinking when it comes to politics.

It’s sad.

They might have been looking at him, but since he doesn’t look like them, they sure won’t vote for him. Nope, they’ll lap up the Obama Koolaid and wonder why that “stash” he promised them never fails to materialize.

Idjits.

Hey, I thought 0bama would put gas in their tanks and pay their mortgages.

Plumbing new depths in a filthy, racist rant of pure hatred. It’s clear that the creation of a victimized underclass is the mother’s milk of this organization. In that, they are wildly successful. In the end, they’re only generating antipathy towards Blacks. An ever expanding class of urban ferals will be the outcome.

You can sometimes learn a lot from someone’s name. For example, Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, Benjamin Todd Jealous...

Because they know how to cook and count?

Because they don’t sit around making excuses.

They dig in, get the best education they can, maintain unbreakable family ties, and work their butts off, while certain other minorities are beating their gums, making excuses, scamming the system, joining gangs, abusing drugs and screwing up their families.

Well, it sounds to me like perpetual welfare is the only thing her black people will accept, provided the black people don't need to ride a bus to the welfare office. Obviously getting back from the welfare office isn't a problem, that way is a taxi ride.
