FARMINGTON, Pa. (AP) -- U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts joked that he'll spend some time on an "impregnable island fortress" now that the court has ended a session that featured him casting the decisive vote to uphold President Barack Obama's health care law.

“Besides, it is a liberal argument to expect the government to protect us from ourselves.”

OMG. Are you freakin’ kidding me? Just what exactly do you think the job of the SCOTUS is?

Why do we even have a SCOTUS? Checks and balance maybe?

You are the one with the liberal argument.

I bet you secretly love Obamacare or are John Roberts himself posting here. I can’t otherwise understand such stupid comments.

I was actually hoping that SCOTUS would overturn ObamaCare. But what's done is done. All the finger-pointing and hate directed towards SCOTUS is wasted energy and won't change a thing.

It's time for us to roll up our sleeves and do the job ourselves. We aren't going to accomplish anything by being keyboard commandos. We are going to have to get in the trenches this election cycle and fight for our very survival. The elections this November will pretty much determine if our Republic will survive or not.

Yep. Rabid Robbie is a regular folk hero now. They will be writing snappy little tunes about his snarky little ass before long.

“We are the ones that put them in those positions.”

What kind of pure, hermetically sealed place do you live where things and people don’t change or lie?

How may politicians have campaigned saying one thing and do a completely different thing?

“Yeah, threats to liberty are big jokes John. The only joke I see is you, and your four liberal pals, none of whom could even read The Constitution, let alone appreciate it.”

I semi-seriously predict we’re going to see Boot-Licker Roberts on SNL before November.

If Holder doesn’t precede him.

Obama is being hoisted by his own petard, and yet most seem to think Roberts should be hanged.

Misinformed public, is all I can say.

All I can say is please try to understand government power. The Statists are gaining more power. They are not looking to work within the bounds of law or fairness. They lust after pure power.

Tell me, how exactly will the waivers go away?

Tell me the time frame that they will go away.

Do you realize that each month this monstrosity stands that the sadistic bureaucrats are cranking out more and more regulations. They are building an insidious web to snare us all.

They know how to weave benefits to enough "classes" of people in such a way that they will scream bloody H*ll if they are cut.

No, far from having Obama hoisted on his ow petard, the evil Roberts has guranteed the cancer of State control to accelerate.

I don't Roberts hanged. I want him to spend a long life and have him realize the utter evil he has unleashed on the American people. I want him to die as an old, humiliated, scorned and ridiculed POS that he has shown himself clearly to be.

When you murder what was left of the Constitution (and probably millions of Americans, through rationed care), that is where you should head.

Dear John,
The thing about ‘impregnable’ fortresses is that wherever you go, there you are.

“All the finger-pointing and hate directed towards SCOTUS is wasted energy and won’t change a thing.”

No you want to point the finger at us (the victims of a clearly unconstitutional bill) and be an apologist for Roberts.

How may politicians have campaigned saying one thing and do a completely different thing?

They have been getting away with that only because we let them. They know that once they get in, it is awfully hard to unseat them and they get re-elected over and over again.

If politicians who didn't keep their campaign promises were thrown out of office at the next election, they would start keeping their promises. Right now, there is no penalty for that and it is us (collectively speaking) to blame.

Too many Americans are either apathetic or they have decided to live off the dole and thus accept the freebies thrown their way. Sort of like "Mollie", the horse in Orwell's Animal Farm, who is content to allow herself to be enslaved because she gets the occasional sugar cube from her oppressors.

We can no longer afford to put dishonorable people in office and expect the SCOTUS to bail us out. Don't forget that the composition of the SCOTUS is the result of the liberals and RINOS we have put in position to appoint them.

A hard turn to the right (conservatism) is the only way we are going to save the country. Being that Mitt Romney is going to be the GOP nominee, it is even more crucial to put as many conservatives into the Congress and Senate as we possibly can.

Can anyone tell me where Roberts is going to be buried?

I want to start pissing on his grave right away. No reason to wait.

Maybe I should start a business. Send me your urine and I will pour it on Roberts’ grave.

Hey! We Pay HIM to protect the Constitution. Unlike the rest of us IT IS HIS ONLY JOB.

Don't carry this turds water. He told you to eat Shiite! He doesn't give a damn about the constitution. He is worse than a liberal since he can not be read to follow the law at all!

Exactly. The American people don't care about the constitution, they care about getting freebies from the gubmint.

You're not going to get an argument out of me on that. But the ball is now in our court and we can put ourselves on the road to recovery with a resounding GOP/Tea Party victory in November.

Contrary to what I have read in other threads, we CAN overturn the horrendous SCOTUS decision. Over time, provided we elect conservative presidents on a regular basis, we will eventually turn the SCOTUS back to a body that defends and upholds the Constitution. But it will take a generation or two of commitment on the part of conservatives to make it happen. It won't be enough to have one blowout election this year and then go back to sitting on our hands on the sidelines.

I know I am rubbing some the wrong way with this approach but we need to convert our anger towards the SCOTUS decision into positive energy for the upcoming campaign.

After a full day of digesting what has happened, I have determined that we need to focus our energies on getting conservatives elected to office at all levels of government.

You really don’t think his supporters can’t get out of any fee, tax, penalty, etc.? Remind me again how many in Congress forget to pay their taxes. It happens every day.

We should not rely upon the SCUS to do our dirty work for us. Time to roll up our sleeves and get the job done ourselves this November. (I'd like to think this might have been the message Roberts was trying to send.)

I think you are engaging in some seriously tortured logic in order to make sense of what Roberts did. Granted, the citizenry should not be electing greedy elitist halfwits to the Congress, but when the franchise was extended to women and non-productive men, that was an inevitability. However, your logic implies that the design of our government is such that the voting mob has the power to do whatever it wants. That was actually the opposite of the Founders' intentions.

So, you'll have to explain to me, if it is not the job of the Supreme Court to judge bills passed by Congress for their Constitutionality, then why do we have a Supreme Court? And if the Constitution is NOT a limit on the powers of Congress, then why do we bother having a Constitution?
