The SCOTUS Just Woke Up a Sleeping Giant (Vanity)
June 28, 2012 | pistolpackinpapa

Posted on 06/28/2012 7:54:12 AM PDT by pistolpackinpapa

One Republican Congressman, whom I believe they said was from Arizona, just said the same thing I said after this Ruling:

"Today, the Supreme Court awakened a sleeping giant. This changes the Election drastically." This has so angered people and will cause many to realize, this is no small matter. This is no game. We MUST Elect Mitt Romney, and a GOP House and Senate on November 6, 2012 so this ObamaCare Mess, our new Tax the Supremes gave us today, can be repealed and totally dismantled.

I believe this "victory" for the Obama Thug Brigade in the White House, will be short-lived. This will fire up people who were somewhat lackadaisical about this Election. We have to get the Marxist out of the White House.

It ain't over Mr. President. WE'RE JUST GETTING WARMED UP!!!

You and I disagree on this. Your options are not the only ones a conservative can find; logic is missing from your conclusion. And where’s the tantrum I threw? You must be thinking of another poster.

Why don’t you turn on the radio or television.

Mitt Romney made an eloquent and inspiring statement.

And he made it almost immediately.

Also I believe all these people who will be now taxed, including Catholics, will file a huge class-action suit against Obama.

They can’t do this to us!

Cannot agree with your capitulation. Your last sentence seems a Non sequitur to the rest of your post.

Then don't agree...because it may be the last few remaining times you can disagree if Obama gets a second term. Your ability for grievance may end up null and void!

After this ruling today ANYTHING unconstitutional or extra-constitutional may be in the cards now!

Here is the gist of the situation. Our politicians are idiots. Obama and Bush et.al have made the government larger and are not afraid to be held account for their actions. We have made a corrupt political class and system. It is inherent in the system. The Statist have now gotten the courts and the environment. You can have all the guns you want but unless you can manufacture ammunition you are going to be screwed. We asked for this by voting in RINOS like McCain and Grahamesty. We bought this by letting the people in Washington push through unconstitutional garbage. The punditry is saying that the tea party is dead and I don't believe that but we need to be out in force. Ron Paul supporters get over yourself and vote for Romney. If you want to save what is left of this republic we need a clean sweep in November. By the way you states better clean up your voting roles like they are doing in Florida because dead people and illegal aliens always vote democrat especially in Chicago. We are watching Nero while America burns. It is not about Roberts because we lauded him over Citizens United. We all need to study the Constitution and hold the politicians to it. I hope that Mr Romney picks a firebrand for veep. I would take Allen West anyday of the week. Conservatives and Libertarians are going to have to SUCK IT UP because our country is in serious trouble. These are the times that try men's souls. The weeper of the house and McConnell must go we need take no prisoner leadership in congress GET rid of the Rockefeller and other establishment republicans. The have to listen to us or else fire their ass.

I have been outspoken in my belief that Bush was a horrible President, in that he refused to defend himself and gave us Obama, in the TARP, in his prosecution of the war and letting the libs play the "Bush Lied" game without any response, and in his spending, among many other things. But I don't blame him for Roberts. We all thought Roberts was a great pick at the time, based on what we knew of him. Unless Bush knew something we didn't, which is unlikely, Roberts seemed like a good choice, and up to now, has been pretty much what was expected.

But now, he is dead to us. I hope he is impeached after the elections and we get a new CJ. That would be a good first step to restoring the Constitution.

I agree.

This is going need a constitutional amendment to fix this.

One that says the federal government can not tax someone (penalty or otherwise) for engaging or refusing to engage in an activity.

What if you decide not to go to college? The feds can now make you pay a “tax penalty” for not getting as much education as they think you should.

What if you don’t read a specific book? Tax penalty.

Don’t show up at a rally to support the government? Tax penalty.

The list is endless. I’m not sure people really realize the Pandora’s box that has been opened here.

I wouldn’t call it giddy, but I’m very happy about voting for Romney.

Getting rid of Obama is paramount and I actually think that we ended up with the candidate most capable of doing that.

I was for Sarah Palin (yeah, I know) but she was a big disappointment to me. I still haven’t felt the same about her. She held the possibility over our head for way too long and when she finally bowed out, people were left scrambling for a candidate.

She is totally responsible for the Herman Cain fiasco.

My next favorite was Rick Perry. He would still be my choice for president, but I don’t think he could have won.

His ideas were too radical for the country and certainly for the establishment as he wanted to radically cut the federal government, do away with many harmful agencies, etc.

After he dropped out we had Newt and Santorum. Neither was satisfactory. Santorum was easily painted as a religious fanatic and not at all good about defending himself. Plus he just wasn’t likeable or inspiring.

Newt was fun and is always the smartest, most eloquent guy in the room, but we all know he could not control his tongue. He would have given ammunition to the dems every day.

Romney has run a great primary campaign and he was nominated ... not by some mysterious evil force but by the voters.

Yes, I’m excited about voting for him.

The only way Obama loses is if Romney wins.

“How are we gonna effect change?”

Secure your neighborhood. Start by electing a Constitional sheriff in your county who is a 2nd amendment supporter. If conservatives get organized and involved, electing a sheriff is very doable. A sheriff has the power to:

1. Buy surplus military equipment.

2. Challenge federal thugs in his jurisdiction.

3. Investigate and arrest liberals.

4. Establish a 1,000 man deputy auxiliary battalion for “emergencies.”

If you live in a strong home-rule state, you can start a petition drive and recall all liberals from local offices to stand for election.

We must wake up! the Supream Court is now a branch of the White House. The liberal judges have won.

Oh brother. Out of all the cases that the Supreme Court has ruled on recently, this is the only one we lost...We didn’t really lose Arizona. We won the campaign finance and many others.....You guys act like we are getting ripped off. If you count up how many cases the Supreme Court has gone our way in recent years, we would be way ahead.

One of Rick Perry’s ideas that I liked was eliminating lifetime status for judges.

This should be done.

Yes, they should have a relatively long term so they won’t be too affected by trends and politics, but not lifetime.

I would suggest 8 years.

Just one of his many great ideas.

WHat they did was invent a defense for this stand, that was NEVER argued before the court... Not the first time, and certainly won’t be be the last, but it is indefensible none the less.

What they basically said is The law is a TAX, and if you buy health insurance you are getting a tax rebate at least equal to the tax. However, that is not how the law was written, it is NOT how the law was sold, and it was NOT how the law was argued before the court.

This entire verdict is invented garbage, and not the first time nor the last, this is exactly the kind of nonsense they pulled with Roe V Wade.

I said in 2006 I would NEVER vote for another rino and meant it with everything in my being. I'm sorry, this ruling is a tragedy of biblical proportion, I can not let stand.
