In Case You Don't Like Romney... A Challenge To Every FReeper

In Case You Don't Like Romney...
Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election
If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, Id just ask you to keep four things in mind:
1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78
2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year
3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August
4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.
Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.
If you dont think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think youre smokin something funky
.
So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didnt get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:
'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'
Did that get your attention!

Scalia and Kennedy won’t retire with a blatant socialist in office. There is every reason to believe that Joe Biden, who will be 74 in 2016, intends to run for the presidency at that time.
Ronald Reagan ran his final campaign as a 74/5 year old.
JP Stevens served on the court until he was 90 years old, a republican appointee who waited to retire until an ultra-liberal came on the scene.
No one expects Ginsberg to retire on a conservative president anyway, but she won’t have to.
Both Romney and Obama are liberals.
So, Romney’s record of appointing liberals to the judiciary in massachusetts means we should worry about getting another John Paul Stevens by another liberal Republican.

Puh-leeze. How about another O'Conner? Another Souter? Where's your evidence that Mitt would nominate a conservative? Please provide sources that support your assertions.
Sure. Duh-bya nominated Roberts. He also wanted to give us Shamnesty and opened our financial system to Mexican illegal aliens and even wanted to give the illegal aliens US Social Security benefits for working in the US illegally. (Even wanted to give US SS benefits to the illegal alien's family back home in Mexico, even if they'd never stepped foot into the USA)
Can you promise that Mitt won't further sell US citizens down the road. If so, the first thing I'll ask is for you to back up your promises with facts.
If you can't promise, then you shouldn't be pushing us to vote for him --for any reason.

Why is that? because you can't scare me into voting for Willard with the ridiculous suggestion of "Justice Eric Holder"? Or am I delusional for not believeing Willard will magically become a conservative once elected? That's sane and I am delusional? LOL
There is a process for nominees. We need strong conservative Senators and some pressure on the weaker [R]'s. That is where we need to fight, because the person making the picks is inconsequential for the next 4/5 years.

But Harriet Miers never made it to the court due to the hue & cry from conservatives. We stopped a bad appointment, & can stop another one. At least with Romney & a conservative senate, we’d be able to force a better candidate. Hopefully Heritage Fdn has a good list of legal minds who believe in Original Intent that we can work from.

All the current anti-Romney stuff only does one thing; help reelect Obama.
That is reality. The rest is crying over split milk. Period.
Sorry, but there is nothing conservative about Romney. His record proves it.

1. Romney's record does not support your contention. He nominated 27 out of 36 far-left, extremist Progressive Liberals for judgeships. None of the remaining 9 were conservatives.
2. There are more than 2 choices to a principled conservative unwilling to sell his/her soul for the sake of the Republican Party: a. Write in Sarah Palin b. Vote for Virgil Goode, an actual conservative.

This tiresome stuff does not change the reality that Obama will appoint a hard left court, Romney and a republican Senate are likely to appoint conservative Justices.
Whether or not Obama needs to be replaced is not even a serious question.
There is very little to be gained by convincing republicans to allow Barack Hussein Obama to be reelected, and a great deal of harm to be done.

Romney's own record disproves your assertion concerning whom he would appoint. In fact, his own record shows he too would appoint a hard left court and since the Senate, GOP or not, is only too happy to go along with whatever extremist left-wing nominee is put forth, Romney is just as bad news as Obama with regards to this responsibility of the POTUS.

Just because a man or woman calls themself a Christian, does not make them a Christian, it's the fruit of their lives, their actions, that make them a Christian and will ultimately prove true or false their confession of faith.
In the same vein, just because an individual calls themself a Republican, does not mean they are a Republican, it's their actions that prove true or false their profession of being a Republican, much less a Conservative.

If Ubama appoints one more radical, we are done.
This is going to be a very hard election for many Freeper's.
For years I have espoused a fact very similar to your posting. SCOTUS is the big prize with this election. The dems know it and it is the one thing that could over ride any doubts they are having about getting O reelected.
This election will set the tone for the republic, maybe for decades, maybe forever.
The liberals know this and will vote to take the big prize besides the presidency. SCOTUS is all we should consider in this election. Liberals know this and will vote accordingly. Those who say they are not voting ARE doing so if the liberals take control for another 4 years.
Letting the liberals win IS voting for Obama, and for conservatives that is committing murder of our republic. Doubt this FACT only at your/our peril.
I am NOT endorsing anyone, and God knows knot Romney. If conservatives got Romney as the only choice besides O, then that is our fault. So starting from 0 (number) is our fault, but starting from "O" (obama) is well along the liberal game plan and exactly what they wish for.
I seriously have been shedding tears over the situation we are in, and pray about the burden we have given ourselves. Either way we have much work to do... I just hope we are not going to start from the hardest position of "O".
