The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Mitt Romney earning 50% of the vote and President Obama attracting 42% support. Four percent (4%) would vote for a third party candidate, while another three percent (3%) are undecided.

Rasmussen better be careful. Last time they came out with a poll that was bad for dems, the politi-media establishment theatened to cover them with hate-neocon goo.
if Romney starts creeping up into the low or mid 50’s, the Dems are gonna have a meltdown of epic proportions.
Abyss rating at -1, OUCH.
The dog-eating didn’t help.
But Obama added or “saved” 4 million jobs? sarc/
Romney will win. When he does, watch the Obama pardons pour in!
- how wonderful gay marriage is, depsite intense media propaganda /p>
- that Romney's pranks 50 years ago are an issue
“if Romney starts creeping up into the low or mid 50s, the Dems are gonna have a meltdown of epic proportions.”
I’ve noticed a lot of rehabbing of Bill Clinto lately. Could have been coincidence that I caught a few such programs in a row.
Has the Intellectual Poverty Law Center certified Rasmussenreports as a “hate group” yet?
Perhaps. I think it's due to the gay marriage (wide) stance.
And if there is anything that the American people want and need at this point, it is a return to normal--to the familiar, the tried and trustworthy values that got us all here.
In an accident of history, benighted millions took a flyer and voted in an unknown quantity. But now that they've tried it, they have had enough.
The others will be Jarrett/DuvalPatrick/VanJones type radicals
The second coming of Reagan wouldn't be able to undo that damage... If that prospect doesn't scare people, don't know what will
Coach Kevin Collins wrote that this was a panic move by Obama.
I agree.
No one in their right mind would do a move like this. Clinton wouldn’t.
Maybe there is something to James Taranto’s thought that he came out
to deflect his potential loss in November. In his concession speech,
“But I went out fighting for
human rights! civil rights! Even though he loses, he can be “historic” figure.
He always was attracted to the Civil Rights Era. The problem is that he was
born too late. The Civil Rights heros were ordinary citizens, preachers,
church folk, and he doesn’t get it.
Uuuuhhh, but the job improvements in foreign countries don’t count....do they?
Interestingly, Rasmussen by return of poll data from Wisconsin on the same day, May 9, shows Thompson in the lead for Senate and Obama in the lead for the President both with 50%. I wonder why this inversion exists?
Obama’s throwing Hail Mary passes way too early in the game.
That had me concerned a bit too.. If Romney has built a nationwide lead, albeit only recently, be should be up in battleground states, especially of Thompson has such a commanding lead... SMH
Those Wisconsin polls truly are confusing. Walker shows strength, The GOP Senate candidates all show leads. Ron Johnson was elected, and yet they are in solid blue territory when it comes to Obama. If the state-level polls are all maintained, I don't see how Wisconsin would not be in play for the Presidential race. I get why states like Massachusetts can split between a leftie President and a center right candidate like Brown, but we are are talking about strong conservatives across the board in Wisconsin AND support for a failed leftist Obama at the same time.
I agree with your assessment.
This means the MSM needs to get going and soon.
Watch them ramp up the BS on Romney true or not!!
“if Romney starts creeping up into the low or mid 50s, the Dems are gonna have a meltdown of epic proportions.”
Its only a matter of time before Obama has a meltdown in public IMO. He’s already come close to it on several occasions. Narcissists don’t deal well with rejection.
Rush always says liberals go crazy when they are out of power or see themselves losing power.
This is very early in the campaign process for an incumbent president to be significantly behind in polling. Even Jimmy Carter’s polls were positive right up to the last few weeks of the campaign.
I think the crazy distractions (contraceptives, gay marriage, Mitt’s a bully) are only going to increase as time goes on and Obama remains behind in polls. And oh my gosh, what will they do if the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare!
“Watch them ramp up the BS on Romney true or not!!”
Obama’s pals in the MSM are probably retracing every step of his life much like they did to Sarah Palin. This election is not just about defeating Obama, its also about defeating a corrupt and mendacious MSM.
“Mitts a bully”
Yeah, he once threw a snowball at a girl in the fifth grade. LOL.
Those of us who post here on FR, listen to Rush, Hannity, etc. know that the media is in the tank for Obama. What this 50-year old "non-story" did was make it obviously clear to millions of other Americans with less political interest that the media is in the tank for Obama. That this story was a manufactured hatchet job was so obvious to everyone. Even many of the denizens over at DU were predicting that the reaction to this story wouldn't go the way as it was intended.
Not only that but he traveled back in time to 2009 to bring a billion-dollar stimulus proposal to 2012!
The bully story sounded pretty desperate didn’t it?
I’m not a Romney fan, but I’m betting he’ll attack Baraq far more vigorously than McLame or Hildabeast ever did.
Oh I think most FReepers are aware of and agree with your point in the first paragraph - although the poll-parsing may tend to obscure that fact.
Nothing, it seems, stirs the left more than normality, a concept they are rarely in regular contact with by accident or design. Normal jobs, normal families, normal aspirations, normal relationships etc. Look how they rail at these things and attempt to use the power of the state to eliminate or replace them. Alienation does strange things to human beings and we are seeing the fruits of that alienation in the causes taken up by the left.
But even leftists concede that Obama operates on a frequency even they can’t tune in, but they attempt to conceal his lack of connection with a phone book full of euphemisms: a cool customer, too intelligent, etc.
Bingo... McCain was a disgrace. Romney, with all of his flaws, won't back down. As Rush said, he didn't spend years going across the country, sleeping in motels, away from his family... Just to lay down and let the KM get re-elected.
Americans, please, please, please......do not take comfort in these poll numbers. Yes, I, too, am overjoyed that Romney is beating this tyrant, Obama, but....the only poll that counts is the real one that takes place on November 6, 2012. We need every decent, honest & patriotic American we can get to go to the polls and vote against Obama on election day, 2012!!! Please, take nothing for granted. We must completely destroy Obama and the entire Democrat Party politically for many years to come. Stay engaged and continue the battle as if we were losing by twenty points!!! I am!!!
The Democrats are going to get very very nasty this time around. If our side tries to counter... the race card will be played immediately along with the victim card. But this constraint may work to our advantage... our side will look like cautious adults while the other side will look like the immature petty loud mouthed idiots that they are. Many people who voted for Obama the last time around are finally beginning to understand what a serious mess the country is now in. Hopefully they will choose people who appear to be serious about getting things back on track.
I would hate for this to be the election that makes Dems like the electoral college system again.
“if Romney starts creeping up into the low or mid 50s, the Dems are gonna have a meltdown of epic proportions.”
They will have a meltdown inside the White House, but in public they are going to get very ugly this fall.
POST OF THE WEEK!
“A reassuringly normal American.”
I think you are onto something here as Romney’s selling point. All Romney has to do is convince 50% of the voters he is acceptable as a President and they can be assured of normalcy. This is the characteristic that will win over independents and fence sitters.
Would to God that Bush had stood up and defended himself, or that McCain had allowed Sarah to go tooth and nail after Obama.
Obama is so open to factual truthful reporting showing what he really is. Much is hidden in his early life through college...but since getting into the IL legislature there is simply tons of stuff out there about the man and what he really represetns...just waiting to be used.

AMEN! Spot on to every bit of that. BZ.
-— And if there is anything that the American people want and need at this point, it is a return to normal—to the familiar, the tried and trustworthy values that got us all here.——
You’re right, even if it’s a facade.
Very well said...and I believe, spot on.
The American people (the majority of them) long for normalcy and a return to traditional values and leadership. The are getting the exact oppoistie from the Kenyan Marxist.
Sage advice
Obama is a sinking ship. The libs are going to get crazier as it becomes more clear that Obama is toast.
Look for fake liberal pollsters like CBS, Washington Post and the rest, to give up any semblance of honesty and start putting out polls which, in their ever increasing desperation, will be obviously fraudulent.
Bingo!
My guess is the AP will carry the water this week, but the CBS or CNN polls are also likely suspects.
That would be fun to watch.
