If we look at the Senatorial Landscape IMHO a pattern is emerging. Lugar, almost gone, Ditto that Hatch. And the one that floors me, Menendez in New Jersery vs. (R) Kyrillos. Menendez is at 43% and Kyrillos is at 33% 7 months out, and Menendez is below the magic 50% mark. That screams to me he is in political trouble. If it is that bad in "blue" New Jersey, what are the winds of political fortune for other Republican / Conservative challengers in other States like Michigan.
With that said, I am gonna go out on a limb and ask the almost unthinkable. is "60 in 2012" a distinct reality?
IMHO I think so. Dick Morris, regardless how you may feel about him is saying a pick up of 8 today, and he isn't to bad at this game.
Tangent to this, these races cost the Dems big money. I do not see how they can afford to defend all their Senate Seats and Re-elect Obama. I don't think he is taking in the money he is supposed too, and the Unions pockets can only be so deep.
In December of 09' I posted almost one month before he won, that this guy Scott Brown is the 60th vote to stop Obamacare and does anyone here on FR see it? I posted I think he can pull it off, and was told he didn't have a chance, my gut feel told me otherwise.
My gut is now telling me a Super Majority in the Senate is not out of the question either...

I have trouble believing that Boner will get another turn at Speaker. Add a few more Tea Partiers to the House and I seriously doubt that "Spineless John" will be the top choice.

However, let me warm the cockles of your heart..just take a look at the list of Dems that are up in 2014..They have a big problem folks...even bigger than this year. I think you'll see the GOP with a 65 seat Senate majority after 2014.
Yes the Col. is a possibility. I don't know if you heard him a couple of weeks ago but Mark Levin came flat out and said Boenher and McConnell got to go as leadership.
As "we" get cranked up, I do not see how at somepoint our pressure doesn't make that a distinct possibility.
It`s fun to imagine what could be, but 60 for the GOP in 2012? No way. Net gains will be in the 3-5 range. They have a shot at a sixth if one of the dems is embroiled in a major scandal. The hope is to kick Harry Reid the Majority Leader position.
But 60?? Not going to happen.
Absolutely no way in this world will 0bama get less than 94% black vote. It has nothing to do with policy.. this is a racial pride issue. Besides, the dems will have them sufficiently scared of the GOP taking all their 0bama money.

Absurd. Richard Mourdock has already won TWO statewide elections. The Democrat running is fleeing his House seat because he couldn't be reelected.
Feinstein is up for re-election this year. Levin and Graham will be up for re-election in 2014. Schumer, Boxer, and McCain will be up for re-election in 2016.
