Everyone please send whatever you are able to, whether it is $10, $100 or $1,000+. The DUmmies, Morons, Kos Kiddies and that crew are laughing up their sleeves. Jim may have to make this site members only or allow ads. Better for us to just help with what we can. Maybe you can donate as a memorial for a lost loved one, a servicemember who never made it home or was disabled defending our country. Perhaps you'd like to give to keep free discussion alive and to show them that we're not knuckling under. I'm sure a well thought out or prayerful meditation will lead you to see the need and how you can help. If every registered FReeper and our lurkers would each just help out with a fin or a sawbuck, or better yet a Ben Franklin, we could put this to bed and get on with the conservative cause.

Personally, given ATS’s policies and T&C rules, I’ve learned to appreciate civility more than I used to.
I still prefer a vigorous give and take—not quite no holds barred—I don’t like personal assaults and ruthless go-for-the-jugular junk.
However, forceful statements about ideas and non-FREEPERS are OK by me.
What I absolutely hate is the DOUBLE STANDARD STUFF. Where extremely narrow biases of whatever flavor get molly coddled if not encouraged and other ALSO VERY CONSERVATIVE PERSPECTIVES get trashed needlessly. We need all the help we can get.
We do NOT NEED to help the enemy by shredding one another just because someone likes chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla.

I haven’t posted here in a few weeks, because I have grown so upset with what FR has become in the past year. This thread exemplifies it perfectly.
I can remember when FR did things that actually changed history. Now it has become a mud fight between warring factions. It has reached the point where rational discussion isn’t tolerated. It used to be OK to discuss differences of opinion; then it degenerated into attacking not only Republican candidates with whom FReepers had differences, but also attacking fellow FReepers who supported (or at least did not condemn) them.
So, no, I’m not going to do an Opus thread. My presence or absence here is hardly worth its own thread, but I don’t expect to post here very much in the future. I’ll continue to lurk and use FR as a great source of news and opinion, but I’m just not up to participating. It just isn’t worth tolerating the nastiness. (Some replying posts will likely illustrate my point).
What I will do is work my ass off to make sure that every Republican up and down my ballot is elected, from top to bottom. Because the United States of America may not survive four more years of what we have now.

In the discussion of abortion Jim, who are you to judge a man’s heart? As a pro-lifer for probably more years than you would like to know, I recognize that the goal of the movement has always been to change hearts and minds.
I have had former abortion advocates come to speak at my pro-life events . . . for both young people and adults. These courageous speakers often spend the rest of their lives trying to make up for buying into the lie . . . not to mention the agony of realizing they have taken life, either directly or inadvertently.

I do not respect the process any longer... it has grown corrupt and managed. I no longer trust anything put out by the Federal Government... no more than I do East Anglia University. I no longer am a republican... 57 years old and I have always been a republican... but they left me and I did not leave them.
No my FRiend, they could not have prepared for what they faced. preibus conspired with Secretaries of States to keep Rick and Newt off of the ballot in States like Virginia... and he engineered certain states to allow dims to crossover and support their fellow leftist mitt romney... and he played loose with the electors and broke his own rules in several states... and he lied and manipulated the votes like he did in Iowa... all to promote the aura of a romney inevitability. Then mitt spent over 45 million dollars attacking Rick and Newt in ways that he has vowed that he will not use against obama.
I will not vote for romney for many, many reasons. First of all I despise him and men like him. I do not like North East liberals that lie through their teeth. I do not like a man that believes that one day he will ascend as a god. I do not like gun grabbing socialists... but above everything... the most important factor in my refusing to vote for mitt romney... is that he is an abortion loving liar. mitt is whatever and whomever he needs to be to attain whatever goal that he has set for himself. No matter what he ever says or promises... in the end... all you are left with is mitt romney... and I have detailed exactly who and what he is above.

Hello to a few friends I haven’t seen in a while.
What a meltdown! I miss the old days. There is no simple human respect here anymore and opinions are homogenized, everybody is in lock step. A few shrieking, tattletale banshees, operating with the approval of the owner and moderators, spend their days and nights on patrol enforcing the one site/one mind rule. They have managed to run off just about anybody with a brain (or a dollar.) They are at it on this very thread. They remind me of high school mean girls and have turned internet bullying into a blood sport. New posters are welcomed with scorn and ridicule and accused of being trolls just because they haven’t been here since day one. That’s a great way to attract new people.
I left FR a while back because I got tired of the attacks against me and like minded people because we were from Texas and we supported Governor Perry. Many of the Texas contingent left FR and took their dollars with them during that time. We were honestly blind sided and shell shocked by our treatment. Governor Perry may not be the most articulate man in the world, he is not perfect, but he is conservative, a patriot, a Christian, knows how to attract business and a heck of an improvement over Mitt. You only have to look at Texas to know he can’t be the complete dunce his FR detractors claim he is. What was wrong with supporting a conservative?
I thought long and hard before I withdrew my financial support. When I wrote JimRob to object to the tone on the Perry threads I reminded him Texas had been good to FR and it was a mistake to allow such loyal supporters to be mistreated. He could have made room on FR to civilly discuss the pros and cons of all the candidates. Or he could have insisted posters disagree respectfully. But he didn’t. I got the cold shoulder as did many of us during that time. You reap what you sow.
I’m sad to see what FR has become and truly miss what it used to be. If I get zotted for speaking my mind that is fine, I don’t post anymore and rarely read the comments because who wants to read the same thought over and over again. There isn’t any free speech on FR these days and I am not into having free opinion stifled. Reading the same “approved” opinions over and over again is boring. I feel vindicated seeing how many people are posting similar feelings on this thread.
